I rewatched this quirky movie last year and found I still enjoyed it. Malcom's inventions are excellent and it's nice to try and spot which parts of Melbourne they shot in, the film is definitely a cultural time capsule. Great video, I definitely learned a few new things about the film, thank you

Thank you for watching! Comments like yours let's me know it was worth putting up the video. It's definitely a time capsule, the fashion, the cop cars, the world time punch cards. The TVs as mentioned. Maybe I like the movie so much, because secretly I wish I was back in the 80s 90s when life was simpler (says me on my smartphone).

My mum worked at a college (high school). The media department was having a clean out, and I got a promotional movie poster of Malcolm for free. Pride of place for several years on my bedroom wall

I love this film. I first saw it as a teenager on British TV in the 1980's. It was like discovering a special secret that only a few lucky people knew about in the UK. I went on to study (Special Effects) Modelmaking at university and this is one of those films I count as inspiring that career choice. I also collect Australian movies (particularly comedies) from that era, again that started with Malcom

That is a wayyy cool career choice. Hopefully you have a model Tram somewhere. As you collect movies similar to Malcolm, have any suggestions? (Besides castle, big steal, spotswood)

Hey Dan, like I was saying to someone else, I would've loved to have seen it at the cinemas, to hear other people's reactions to some of the scenes (I find certain scenes hilarious, whereas my friends think "meh"). 80s, what a time to be alive.

@ChrisTopher-cy8ph wow wish I couldve seen it at the movies. Just to hear people's reactions. It's crazily underrated, and it seems forgotten. Thanks for watching Christopher

It's crazy. Not just buildings and houses, bit it's like entire streets have been created. Then on the other hand you see buildings like that green one I pointed out, with the same paint job 40 years later.

@@JamesTaylor-n1u first aussie movie I saw at cinema was Storm boy about 1977 78, awesome. Had David ,," Gidday Mick" Gullipul (sp?) in it

Hey James. I do. Movies like Malcolm, big steal, spotswood, heartbreak kid. (Young Einstein, reckless Kelly was ok). But I want to see if I can find more like this. I haven't seen Bad Boy Bubby, but ive heard the name. Is that the one where his mother forces him to stay home and ...

Why are there words all over your video? Annoying as hell.
@3PointsFilms2 күн бұрын
@User0000000000000004 haha i was contemplating whether or not to do that, but it's for deaf people - youtube's own subtitles are very unreliable. But point noted, i won't burn them in on the next video. But if you mean those green ones... yeah I think i started off doing a correction, and then lost the plot. Will remember not to do so on the next video. Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it.
