I miss Todd Eldridge. That was smooth, elegant, beautiful skating without being feminine or gimmicky. Thanks, Todd. God bless!

Oh what a huge pleasure it still is to watch Todd Eldredge skate even after all these years! Ah those fun spins at the very end. I could watch all day.

I loved this program! and the last triple axel was HUGE!

Despite the missed quad attempt Todd's free skate was easily one of the best of the evening. The remaining jumps were solid with captivating choreography. The "old guy" was still showing the younger competitors how it was done! Bravo Todd!!

He only missed one jump. But overall he skated with superb quality. I think his marks should be higher. He is one of the best male skater in the world.

Awesome skate, even with the missed quad! And he was competing with an ankle injury that whole time! He was undermarked as hell for this magnificent skate and really should have been 4th, no way was he sixth or seventh. This skate was wonderful except for one element. The quad is overrated, I have seen much skating in person and the quad is not all that. Todd minus a quad was better than MANY who got World championships and Olympic and World medals ahead of Todd. Anyone applying judging FAIRLY and with an eye to high levels of artistry and technical ability TOGETHER would agree. Which why people still look at Todd's videos and write essays on him....he is what male figureskating is about, not cookie cutter programs with quads and inferior spins and no speed. Some of today's programs are horrible,and I am glad KZbin has some from Todd, Kulik and Yagudin as an antidote. Thanks for this video!

It’s ok Todd, I’ll always love you and you have the heart of a champion. Even today you’re a pleasure to watch. I would much rather watch you than the looting and ignorance on TV right now.

brwneyesaz It WAS a terrific performance. Too bad that he had had the issues in the short program. He was in 9th place after the short, but he recovered magnificently in the free skate.

Todd really knew how to skate a program with amazing choreography, jumps (no quad who cares), and spins.... the whole package. Tim and Evan won Olympic medals but they didn't come close to Todd's talent.

Anyone else think if these skaters planned their difficult jumps in the middle of their programs (T.H. with 3a, T.E. with his 4t) they would've fared better. Do they absolutely have to open with their difficult jump??

Lord of the Rings! Lord of the Rings!!!! Je skated to LORD OF THE RINGS!!!! Love it! How come no one else skates to that soundtrack? :( it's way better than watching them skate to Phantom of the Opera and Carmen... :) he was a good! A bit before my time, but he was good :)

abigail hitchcock I couldn't agree more. I have nothing personal against the music of Carmen & POTO, but both have been SO overused. When I look back @ Todd's Olympic eligible career, he chose a lot of music that was not used all that much (if @ all) by other skaters - First Knight (1996, 1998 Worlds, 1998 Goodwill Games), Gettysburg (1995/1996 season, 1997/1998 season), Independence Day (1996/1997 season), 13th Warrior (2000/2001), 1492 - 20001/2002 - OK, that one was used by a number of other skaters, but Todd's version is a gem!

Gail S. To be completely honest, I really haven't watched alot of Todd Eldredge :( he's really good though...he skates very masculinly (I don't know if that's a word lol!) I didn't know that he used alot of "unpopular" music. I know alot of people loved him though! :) he is a bit before my time though...but it's nice to watch the older ones because there is ALOT less arguing in the comments. I really do enjoy the sport, but social media is starting to ruin it :( I said one nice thing about Tessa and Scott and Patrick Chan, and I was literally verbally attacked! I thought that was really rude. That's another reason why I wanted to check out Todd Eldredge (other than the fact that he skated to the soundtrack of one my favorite movies!), I was hoping there'd be less arguing and meanness. But Todd Eldredge is REALLY good! And he seems SO nice...or at least he is on Twitter lol! :) if I watched the 2002 olympics, I think I would've become a fan of him😊 any advice on how to deal with haters on KZbin though?
@paskatefan9 жыл бұрын
abigail hitchcock I wouldn't call the music he chose "unpopular," just not used all that much. Check out plenty more of Todd videos on KZbin! Sorry that you had those experiences on KZbin with those people's rude comments. If they are really that bad, I would either report or block them for their abusive behavior.
@abby57169 жыл бұрын
Gail S. Thankyou! I never thought if that...thanks! I'm sorry, I didn't mean "unpopular" in a negative way. But being that those movies are really popular, I'm surprised that no one really uses it :( but I will once I get the chance! 😊 thankyou!

@lcowles Thank you! I also think it was a travesty that Todd received the bronze medal @ 2001 Worlds. IMHO, he deserved no less than silver @ that competition. Todd was thrilled to make it on that podium though, and he handled it all with grace and humility!

@@jjh2456 yes, my point was if he skated the same program in those eras he would have won. And in 2010 the sport went backwards technically it seems.
