Because some of my musician friends are vegetarians, I replaced all of the Gut Strings w/ Fluorocarbon Strings (I also have Steel strings from 5th Octave C to 7th Octave C to get a fuller sound).

Just so I'm clear, when the string threads through the tuning peg and then behind the vertical string, it comes forward first and then towards the back before winding? Thanks for this wonderful video!

Ack! You didn't explain leaving enough slack and my string (something I learned when thinking "what is wrong here?" and going to find another tutorial) In attempting to wind it while taut as you say, the nylon is crimped and weakened from the metal peg. I can't restring it now and I'm really disappointed thinking that I could follow you step by step here. :( Now I'll have to go buy a new string and wait for it to ship in. *sigh*

You failed to explain about leaving enough slack so that as you wind the string it doesn't break. You might consider doing the video over to include this critical bit of information

I bought the roosebeck harp strings set and my white string is just one long white string. I have to measure it or what?

You should have received several long strings in different gauges (diameters.) Put the correct long string on your harp. Then, when you're sure it is ok and up to pitch, cut off the excess at the top, and save it for next time.

I have a 19 string celtic lever harp. So I have four long white strings. I thought that I had to do that, but it just seems like a lot of room for error. I will do it anyway. Thanks!

somebody, please, kill me. :( I just got my entirely new harp today and I was trying to tune it, but one of those thin strings broke. :'( I'm so stupid idk if I can replace it myself, my parents haven't seen it yet and what have I done. How am I supposed to know which one should I use now? It was C-red string, but what if I don't use the proper octave? KILL ME. I deserve that. I'm afraid to do anything, the harp is terribly out of tune, I was moving the tuning key to make sure I hear the proper note and then it broke. And it stroke my pointfinger, but I deserve that. Is there anybody more stupid in this world than I am? I never played a melody on harp, just got new one as beginner and this is what I did 5 hours after its arrival.

Strings break all the time. This is not unusual. It is also very easy to break a string when you are learning how to tune. This is why I made these videos. Just take a deep breath and relax. Please contact the place where you bought your harp to get extra strings. Every model of harp is strung differently, so it is important to be sure you use the correct strings for your harp.
