I’m an employee of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This movie was amazing. James Cameron was so kind. He specifically wanted us employees to see the movie first and for free because a lot of us make magic in Pandora. Cameron rocks and I can’t wait for the new movies. Fingers crossed for a new ride.

I was in the same boat as you! Saw it once (maybe twice?) when it came out. Never had an urge to watch it again. Saw it at IMAX in 3D this time around and didn't really know what to expect. The story and dialogue were okay, better than the first for sure, but wow...the visuals were absolutely stunning. My mind was blown so many times. There were moments when I forgot I was watching a movie and was totally immersed and many other times where I wasn't thinking "Oh, the CG looks great" but rather i wasn't even thinking about CG at all! That's how incredible it looks. The best graphics I've ever seen on screen. Ridiculously breathtaking. All of the underwater scenes were so incredible. This is a truly a milestone in VFX.

#AvatarTheWayOfWater is a surprisingly great sequel to the original film. Does a better job with the story this time around and the characters have more to chew on this time around. The visuals and technology here is nothing short of breathtaking and the technical aspects are absolutely magnificent here from cinematography and score here. I also appreciate the themes of protecting the ocean, keeping your family safe and the cycle of violence (which is always interesting to see). Acting is strong especially from the new actors here. There are some new characters who get underused, the ending isn't fully satisfying, some story developments isn't complete and the film is 192 minutes too long. But it's way better than the first one. Great review, Chris

I was thinking the same thing. It was a long movie but it didn't seem like a long movie. There were a lot of scenes that didn't so much progress the story as it was just there to fleshed out the world of Avatar and really immerse you in that world. It was handled extremely well. That is something I felt was lacking from Wakanda Forever, it was a long movie that felt long, at least imo.

It was amazing for sure! The only thing that annoyed me was the constant change of frame rate. Did anybody else notice that? It looked like they were switching from 24 fps to 120 fps. Some of the action scenes looked wonky at 120 , it looked super sped up. Then when it switched back to 24 fps it looked like slow motion and/ or a cutscene in a video game. I wish it would have stayed with either 24 or 120. Although the 120 made the CGI look super clean so I probably would have preferred it to be at 120 fps the entire time.

I watched this last night in IMAX 3D and I can agree, this movie is way better than the original, in every way possible. People that hate on this movie are just selfish individuals that want a complex mind bending sci-fi plot and fail to realize that this is made simple for a global audience. I’m glad that I can sit and watch this movie with my wife and kids and we all get something out of it.

Honestly after seeing the cgi in the trailer I finally understood why it took so long and Boi was it worth it

If by, ‘Did you get around to seeing it?’ -You mean- ‘Did you set an alarm that gave you a meager 3 hours of sleep after a rough work day to wake up (and bake) for the earliest possible showing on opening day, during which you scarfed a large, extra-buttered popcorn and cried multiple times in the final hour of the film?!’ Then, yes! I ‘got around to seeing it.’

Well yeah, the viduals are breathtaking,the story is simple,the action sequences are tension filled but the runtime is superlong and I think this sequel is enough...they do not need to continue the series until the 5th movie,unless if the box office is insanely record breaking...

Well, the 3rd movie had already completed filming, and Cameron is now working on the 4th movie. So it doesn't mater that much how the 2nd movie would perform, as we would most likely get them regardless. Tho if movie 2 and 3 perform badly, we might not get movies 4 and 5, as there is no interest in them nor they make the money needed to keep the franchise alive.
@ERICREVIEWSMOVIES Жыл бұрын
@@viktoria_pikovsky it is just dissapointing that Cameron only working in the Avatar movies,he should have done the same with the terminator movies,now the frenchise has become a trainwreck and beyond saving
@viktoria_pikovsky Жыл бұрын
@@ERICREVIEWSMOVIES Well, Cameron said that he retired from film making completely. He became a full on climate change activist, and that's his new main job now. He is making the Avatar movies only because they allow him to talk about his climate change activism, and create a discussion around those topics. Plus, Avatar was his passion project for the past 20+ years, it's literally his Magnum Opus. Those would be the last movies he would work on ever, unless he would find another movie that can push his climate change messages.
@ERICREVIEWSMOVIES Жыл бұрын
@@viktoria_pikovsky yeah...spreading a meaningful messages through movies is important,but the other function of a movie is as entertainment as well and I believe Cameron can deliver both of those things, but imagine if he decides to make the 10th movies of Avatar,will people get bored?

I agree with a lot of what you say but in the case of the visuals, yes, they were Almost Bloody Perfect but it did have wonky scenes, to be fair, it was in a fight scene near the end of the movie, with the boats... I liked the fight (Payakan Forever!), but some parts of it, specifically when humans went flying, it looked like a really good video game. So no complaints with the visuals, it was funny to see the Ps4 Humans fly off boats
