What I love the most about these is the expressions and body language. CGI Animations for a long time fell into being rigid and more "Realistic" in movements. But here, you see the whole ray of motion and posture with the "Squash and Stretch" of traditional 2D animation. I love seeing that life and energy coming into 3D art work. The poses and extremes in some of these are so expressive and energetic, and play so perfectly to the camera. All very very impressive.

none of these answer this person's questions, but i'll try my best to answer, as i am taking animation courses at a different online school. usually, when you are in a 3D animation class or any class dedicated to making an animation as your final project, the students in that class don't have time to model and rig all the characters and model the environments. sometimes they will bring over characters and environments from previous classes, or download free ones off the internet. now, i'm not sure what class these were made in, but if it were a class where you worked as a team, there would be a character designer, character modeler/rigger, environment designer, environment modeler, and an animator (or a few), along with storyboard artists, editors, maybe prop designers/modelers, ect, though seeing as there is just one name for crediting each animation, they were most likely all made by 1 person over the course of a few classes, or that one person downloaded free characters, props and environments to animate with.
@BergsArt4 жыл бұрын
I'm sure the students just focused on the animation, and the selected few shots that get to be in the showcase gets to be polished up with lighting and environment.

Ah cool
@thehoiclan98267 жыл бұрын

do you need to be a good drawer to make these kinds of 3d models?
@PhyreSpore9 жыл бұрын
+Wisdom Tooth You don't necessarily have to be a good traditional artist to make great 3D art, but the skills involved with drawing can improve what you make in 3D. Really, and general artistic knowledge is useful no matter what medium you use..
@donnachibobini64879 жыл бұрын
There's the concept artist that designs them, then the 3D modeler that makes them into well duh, 3D models lol its more like a teamwork thing, however they can take the profession to do both. You pretty much have to draw well for the concept art but if you can mold things well then it should be fine.
@WisdomTooth19879 жыл бұрын
I guess what I'm really trying to figure out is if the lack of drawing affect the form and shape?
@PhyreSpore9 жыл бұрын
Wisdom Tooth In short, I'd probably say yes, it does. Having experience with traditional or digital drawing/painting gives you a solid base set of knowledge to work with. But, honestly, skills related to 'form and shape' are just developed over time through research and practice. I've heard that having a traditional background helps a lot and gives artists an edge when it comes to design, but I've also heard stories of people who can barely draw for scrap, but are fantastic 3D artists.
