So update it's been 3 months I am confident with Substance Painter with my models ....the next step is to learn zbrush and Mari hopefully it's gonna go just fine and hopefully by the end of this year I will have something...I love this channel, I love the motivation and hopefully whatever you guys are doing you come out successful on the other side. If I can do it you can do it too It's just been a year since I started 3D so I am new to this too 😊 - to all my intermediate and beginner 3D artists out there ❤️ If you are reading this Thank you so much for this channel and your videos it's really helpful ❤️

@@man2596 I know right... I mean I have heard from so many people that Mari is hard but I really want to do it....also be of college and everything I don't have enough money to buy a paid course so if my anyway she could do it it would have been great...... I can understand that it might not get much views and I don't know a paid course is good for business and everything but still if possible 😕

@@slade6257 I'm not sure if it has to do with its difficulty. Houdini is considered to be hard as well, but on youtube, you can find many videos. I guess maybe "not used by many people" is the answer...

Thank you for making these videos!! I am just starting Substance Painter and seeing how you work in it is really enlightening. I have a question though. Around 16:30 you added another layer of the gold copy to achieve some color variation. Doesn't adding two of the same layer affect the final color? I mean when I add a copy on the layer stack, the colors change even though it's the copy of an older material.
@ArtruismDigital
@ArtruismDigital 3 жыл бұрын
It shouldn't if the layer settings is normal not some kind of mix.

Hi! really enjoyed the video, you're a beast at texturing as always ahah! I was wondering, could you show how you usually combine the maps from substance back in maya for arnold? that and combining the displacement from zbrush for the final render always confuses me...

Trust me, the way you learn is not by watching a full on guide which makes all the decisions for you and all you do is mindlessly follow which confuses you more and more instead of utilizing learned functions to suit your needs by way of thinking yourself and developing your skills. The way to learn as a beginner is to follow a beginners guide, learn the subject and understand the reasons behind decisions. Then you head into the jungle with a shitty spear, get fucked up by the animals, gather yourself & look up a solution for your problem and head back! The learning curve is more of a swinging whip(and feels just like it), there´s no way of straight lining you into the 3d world. Embrace this thought and things will get better :)

Minute 8:35 , you can use mesh > conform to snap the ornament to de magnet geo and avoid finicky snapping with quadraw 👍

Hey Chun Chun, I have watched and love all your videos! I am currently texturing a shark and wondered if you have any tips for organic modeling when the thing itself is very smooth. I'm using Substance Painter and suppose they way to go is painting most of the masks and using layered image textures?
