Lets talk about texturing your character and rendering it! In Part 2, we're going to go over texturing your character in Substance Painter, and some cool tips and tricks for rendering your character in Marmoset Toolbag 3.
The character creation workflow can be daunting for beginners, especially when creating stylized characters. There is a ton of hidden knowledge that isn't available to beginners, so where do you even start?
Antoine Racicot stops by Stylized Station to give a workshop on stylized character creation, where he will give a ton of tips and tricks showing how to create a professional-level character.
This is Part 2 of a 2 Part series.

Very informative. Didn't think to use THAT many lights to set up a scene...but it certainly looks better for it. :) Great stuff!

When doing the eyes, did you set up a transparent material on the outer eye inside of Substance and then make adjustments in Marmoset for it to be clear? I also was having a problem that when I change the PBR settings in Substance to make the outer eye see through I would loose my Emissives on the model. Any advice for the eyes from Substance to Marmoset you can give?

Those are great tips for beginners ... However I struggle to find tips on gaming specific textures ... Like baking light (to base color, more precisely) into texture for games with basic shaders or needs performance optimization . I can make it for static objects but I'm struggling to make textures for player model . Is there any way me to get all AO, metallic , roughness represented in one image, ... perhaps applied over base color ? I remember back in day, some strategy and shooting games used only diffuse textures with all the AO, normal, bump and metallic & roughness ,somehow, baked into it ...
