ive tried this a couple times and i just cant get the grass material to work properly, its on the model and the colours show but the gradient isnt vertical and is horizontal instead, idk it all looks the same but mabey its some stuff in unreal idk about or something. very nice tutorial though! hopefully i can make it work

the problem is, when you cant even draw something what could look like a character or something else you already need a lot of time to get into this - for me its for example easier to start directly in the software

As a millennial animator who got to see the full evolution and hellscape character modeling and rigging has endured over the years, I have to say we live in a phenomenal time currently. Right now it is the perfect blend of commercially available, easy to learn, and visually appealing to both game developers and traditional animators. All the people with the highest competency and skillset to utilize it are finally at a point where they can actually desire to sculpt and model 3D at a high enough level graphically to bring their visions to life, and shaders have evolved in a way to finally let those artists put their initial visions to the screen unhindered by limitations of polycounts and depth of field.

6:02 I got an issue where my grass gradient is being applied on the side of the grass blade instead of from the top/bottom. Anyone know what i did wrong? As far as i know i did everything exactly the same up to this point.

@@gabrimtb6809 I actually figured another way around this, i figured out which side of the original plane is the dark side and rotated it to the bottom and then made my grass blade hahah and the gradient works as intended now

This is not work like that, lol. They using GPU instancing (or Nanite etc.) LOD is indeed used for optimization, but for objects like grass, where there are thousands or even millions, it’s an unnecessary system that will burden your CPU. Instead, GPU instancing is used, allowing the graphics card to render by cloning a single object into millions. This video is incomplete and inaccurate.
