The last one, M9, is a reenactment of the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred in 2011. It certainly didn't collapse that much due to the shaking... The tsunami caused great damage
@berkovl72267 күн бұрын
That's because the Earthquake's epicenter was under the ocean 70km east of Japan and not on land. By the time the seismic waves reached the Japanese coasts they already weakened to ~6 in Magnitude. So I guess the video is somewhat misleading on that...

Back in January 2017, in the central zone of Italy (where I live) there had been an earthquake right in the morning time and I was getting ready to go to school, when a strong earthquake (7.1) started. Despite having witnessed strong earthquakes for example back in 2009 and 2016, this one was the one that actually marked my childhood/pre teen age. Rip to all the people who lost their lives from such horrifying event 💔 🙏

In 2008, I experienced a 5.2 magnitude earthquake in central Illinois. I was in college at the time. Woke up in the wee hours of the morning feeling my bed rocking back and forth, figured I was imaging things and went back to sleep. It wasn't until I went to class and everyone was talking about the earthquake that I realized what it was.

I would not be born until 1968 in Santa Monica California. Mom and Dad always tell the story to me and my two brothers and a sister about how even though the house was destroyed they survived! I love your simulations. I don't think I've missed a single video. I do wish the backgrounds were a little more detailed with clouds or an actual landscape. That way they won't look so barren after the buildings collapse. I don't mind that the props stay static or look simpler than the foreground. I'm also often mildly frustrated when there's no furniture indoors (5:04). Just a couple of items would really enhance the scene. Anyway, those are just my two cents. Love your work ❣💁♀

Never experienced an earthquake myself. I was working in Turkey in 2023 few months after the massive earthquake at the border with Syria. Ismet a college of mine told me that the earthquake could be felt in Antalya Region as well (obviously not as strong as in the epicenter) Then in 2024 i worked at the campsite near Rome. I remember that there were news about earthquake in the Naples. News said that the earthquake could be felt in Rome as well but maybe that didn't include the Municipo Roma X Area because i was living there and never felt anything.

A magnitude 6 earthquake has significantly less destructive energy than a magnitude 7, but it can still cause severe damage depending on the quality of construction, soil type, and proximity to the epicenter. The video might have simplified the damage to demonstrate these differences.
