I’m definitely going to sign up for this. I’m a pro artist, used to zbrush predominantly and Maya, having to jump on over to Blender. This is going to really helpful for me (the technical side). My anatomy is pretty good, both female and male, but the technical side is a bit tricky and definitely different than Blender. But what I love about Blender is the multiple functions you have in ONE software. But damn I got grey hair from learning it 😂😂 Keep well Speedchar

I'm a unit student who took 3d character modeling as my course and just graduated. I have been taught that industry only uses programs like zbrush, maya - ect. was there any specific reasons as to why you made the change towards blender appart from the base software being free to use unlike the others i have mentioned.

There are lots of studios that started using Blender. Maybe not for the full pipeline, but I know that many dig using Blender with the Retopoflow addon, for example. I heard this from friends and former tutors working in the games industry. And from personal experience, working with manufacturing/services companies, we end up using blender a lot (most moved from Max) to create VR/AR assets to send to Unity and Unreal. tl;dr - The landscape is changing a bit, so any tool can be possible. Focus on the fundamentals and you are good to go ;)

Hi Nicole, I enjoy learning from you. I am a little nervous with AI generated stuff. I am working on myself to develop my skills but what if AI generated models take the place of us???? That is like a nightmare. What do you think? It is worth to spend a lot of time to learn???
@Diolust Жыл бұрын
Ai won't replace you thats for sure, but it will probably help you save time if you learn how to use it as well. (not that they can sculpt or 3d model at the moment but that doesn't mean they won't in the near future)
@ShadowWind82 Жыл бұрын
It's too bad the course is limited to that. No creation of bone rigging; no full retopology; no creation of a set of facial expressions for the character; no creation of walking, running and other basic animations, etc.; no transfer to Unity and Unreal Engine. Without this, it's just a pretty model with no adaptation to practical applications in games or/and animation.
@zues3663 Жыл бұрын
thats a lot to ask for from one person, in studios you will have multiple people doing all that you just stated. only thing niko could add is retopology. all the animations would be done by an animator.
@ShadowWind82 Жыл бұрын
@@zues3663 It depends on the studio. In small studios, you will do everything yourself. The same goes for models to be sold at markets and stockists. Also, if you don't know the whole cycle, you'll make mistakes that interfere with the next stage of production and instead of doing the next stage, the person will come to you and make you redo a bunch of things. That's a waste of time for which you'll be fined a significant amount of money or fired completely. Incorrect topology will create problems with the sweep and maps. When animating, you need to adjust the model so that the topology has the right volume and topology when bending. When creating facial expressions, again you need the correct model, with teeth, tongue, and mouth. My point is, without knowing the next steps, you can't do the correct work on yours. Asian courses, for about five years now, include the entire production cycle. That is, having completed the course, your work has practical application and value. But the problem is that they are in the Asian language, and it is extremely problematic to buy them.
