This creates what is essentially a type of large scale hyperbolic geometry, that's why it's so cool looking.

@@MarcelaHernandez-vf6de and @DIY Designer I just made my first 3D Kaleidoscope using the instructions from this video and I added lights. Here is a link to photos since I cannot post any photos here.photos.app.goo.gl/bpfCdh7CzzhTTcAo9 Also, I tried hot gluing the tiles together, but it proved to be a hot mess. I am also going to try to use some stained glass soldering techniques and printing a 3D scaffolding. As I mentioned above, I am also going to try to bevel the edges of the mirror so that the pieces can fit together with a shared edge. I will post if there is any interest. ~Kelly @socialcraftingcollective

Most creative & brilliant DIY I can remember seeing. It brings back memories of growing up! May i ask how large the 2nd was/is? & did you go with 3mm again? Thanks!!!
@diydesigner57664 жыл бұрын
thank you so much! i believe the bigger version was 2 times / 3 times as big and also made of acrylic mirror. Later i realised that PS mirror 2mm would have been better ( i used that stuff with my kaleidoscope video) because the mirror is on the top surface and not under the acrylic :)
@СашкаБелый-ч6м4 жыл бұрын
@DIY Designer What is “PS mirror”? Acrylic mirrors at Aliexpress have reflection film at front side. Acrylic mirrors at your Niderland friends (snijlab) have reflection on back side.
