nice detail you added here, i wonder did you use an image reference of a real rifle scope for this?

This scope was actually based off of an image I found online. I didn't copy it exactly but used majority of the ideas and incorporated them into this model :)

Hey, I'm new to 3d modeling and I wanted to ask this. So is it okay to kind of clip one surface into another without connecting them? Isn't it gonna affect UV or something?
@polyrendr9 ай бұрын
Hey! It really depends on the situation, but yes it can definitely be okay. Are the objects staying in their place or are they moving? It shouldn't affect the UV's unless its animated or something, in which case I would bake the textures without the objects touching and then move them after.

Why do you use autodesk maya specifically?
@polyrendr Жыл бұрын
Many reasons! Some being its industry leading, the studio I work for uses it, I enjoy the UI/workflow, I find its the most user-friendly, etc. I've tried them all or most and I personally prefer Maya 🙂
@agapon2023 Жыл бұрын
I bet the main reason is because he started learning 3D with it. There is no big difference in which software to polymodel. They all support it pretty well
@arandomguyontheinternet9057 Жыл бұрын
Whats is difference between fusion 360 and maya ? 🤔🤔🤔
@polyrendr Жыл бұрын
They are very different but also very similar in a lot of ways - each one serves a specific purpose. They can both achieve similar things, but are stronger in different areas. For example Fusion 360 is a CAD and CAM software that's more aimed towards mechanical engineers, product designers, etc. whereas Maya has 3D rendering, modeling, animation, rigging, etc. which is more aimed towards visual effects for games, film and television.

you know heres a question is maya similar or better than blender? i see it used alot nowadays and i wanna know
@polyrendr Жыл бұрын
They both have their own strengths and weaknesses but can both achieve basically the same things. Maya is more industry standard because it’s used by a lot of the bigger studios, etc. but Blender is awesome too. It’s less about the software and more about the artist using it 🙂 I personally prefer Maya but try them all and see which you like best.
@michaeleaster83549 ай бұрын
If I worked at a company that allowed me to use blender add-ons without getting them individually approved, maybe Blender could be better, but apples to apples, vanilla Maya vs vanilla Blender, Maya wins by a long shot.
