Actually we are doing some tests and compare it with a trapezoidal magnets rotor to prepare an article for a scientific journal. then we will try a new motor with 3D printed coils. Then we will share the design.

Is the model airplane motor controller only for testing? A proper sinosudial inverter would yield higher efficiency and less heating. Because of the low induction of this type of motor, I2R losses are high when They are just run with a semi 3 phase waveform.

Typical motors are probably even easier, but time consuming and you just have to pay attention to directions. I think I would prefer the conventional way, also lower resistance and less soldering.

They are cheating and use a winding counter and thick wires. Coils can quickly become a huge pain in the bottoms to make at high quality with high turn counts. But yeah, you're right. I already 3d printed my own customizable motor test platform as well. 1 or 2 skateboard bearing, some 1.5-2mm copper wire, a 3d printer and off you go.

Looking forward to you stacking these in an arrangement like the multiple rotor cells of a Wankle engine. If you can cross the poles from one side to another side of the stator, why not throw another stator and another set of poles in there. Really cool way of building the motor.

If I was your thesis opponent I would argue that without having the ferromagnetic yoke filling the inside of the coils so much flux is wasted. Note that there are iron-loaded filaments if you want to experiment without having access to some metal workshop, although lamination is crucial to limit losses. For that size, you need to push the continuous power up by a factor of 10 to make it interesting.

Hi, this is the sort of 'sleeves up' engineering to get excited about when you think of all the future possibilities of the axial flux design in EVs and eVTOL/Aircraft, well done! Have you looked into the relative merits of having a single coil layer in the centre and dual ring of permanent magnets? Also what about filling the magnet core -why coreless?

In industrial developments the 2 rotors & 1 stator version seems to be more efficient because the magnetic flux goes more straight between two opposed permanent magnets, which results in higher magnetic flux for considerably shorter magnets. It is also possible to increase the magnetic flux further by use of an iron ring plate at the opposite side of the permanent magnets to the coils as a magnetic flux guide between each pair of permanant magnets.

🔴 What Is Islam? ⚠️ 🔴 Islam is not just another religion. 🔵 It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham. 🔴 Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God. 🔵 It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone. 🔴 It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine. 🌍 The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as: 📖 { “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4)[4] 📚 🔴 Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus. 🔵 Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him.

Really great work!!! I’m curious, have you or anyone working with Axial Flux design tried also putting magnets on the edge(circumference )of the rotor and corresponding windings around the edge (circumference) of the housing? Or vice versa, magnets on outer edge of housing with windings on the edge of the rotor. I ask because because it looks like that would give you the best of an both worlds(Axial -Radial Flux). I looked around around the internet and didn’t find anything like what I’m suggesting, though I have seen a couple Rad-Axial motors. Congratulations on the success of such an undertaking and can’t wait til your next design hits you tube. Thanks for the video.

This is really not a great design. You've got nothing to try to direct and concentrate the magnetic flux through the stators. Ideally, you'd have one stator and two rotors with each rotor having an iron backing behind the magnets on the outermost sides (unless it's a Halbach array in which case you do NOT want a steel/iron backing on the rotors. You want the rotor magnetic fields to be attracting the rotors together around the stator. This does offer a mechanical design challenge, but you'll have MUCH better field interaction with the coils.
@onemanmob6756
@onemanmob6756 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not an expert, but I also thought that without another rotor, half of the magnetic field created by the coils goes to waste. Ideally you'd have the cooil stator sandwiched in between two rotors with magnets
