FINALLY somebody who shows some post processing of a 3D print! People buy a 3D printer, expecting it to run on pixie dust or something and the wonder why their prints look bad.

Amazing vid ! Enjoyed the quality of the video and the patience in the making of the gearbox !. Tho I wont trash talk about the background music, you should consider using other music such as a soothing one, and less instagram-like. But, beside that, keep it up with the amazing builds

Or maybe because 3d printed gears are incredibly noisy and the play is unacceptable for many applications

I use quite slow speeds 20-40 ms depending which layer is printing. If I use speeds over 50ms my extruder starts skipping. Next upgrade will be a new hotend and a bowden extruder.

Very good! How strong is it? What is a maximum torque on the shaft it can survive?
@fortzero1552
@fortzero1552 7 жыл бұрын
I have no idea how much torque this can take. But I think if you are using small motors with this, motor will stall before the shaft broke down.

good vid and good print quality. I have the exact same printer, just wondering if you could tell me what steps per minute the extruder is set at in marlin and also what extrusion flow rate do you have set in your slicer? Am new to 3D printing so just want some starting point.
@fortzero1552
@fortzero1552 7 жыл бұрын
My Esteps are set to 98 or 0.98 (Factory default). Flow rate is set 100% = factory settings. When I build this printer I had lot of problems with under extrusion but the reason was slipping extruder gear that pulls filament.
@mike309saa
@mike309saa 7 жыл бұрын
How did you sort the slipping extruder gear? Unless yours is different, mine doesn't have an adjuster screw to adjust the tension. Though not had any gear slipping issues yet.

What did you use to prep the PLA for paint? And is it the same for ABS?
@fortzero1552
@fortzero1552 7 жыл бұрын
1.Clean all dirt and oil from the surface. 2.Add Primer and top coat. I'm using Alkyd and acrylic based spray paints for PLA. No problems so far. Both of those types of paints seems to have some acetone within so using them with ABS plastics is not guaranteed. (Never tested ABS filaments) Check link for more info about spray paints. www.maston.fi/en/front-page

Hey bro do you know where I can find the stl for a gearbox with two axes but for the 755 motor so that it looked like the typical yellow motors but much more powerful, im sub I have looked for something similar in many places but did not find I needed something with power and with 300 rmp more or less not the typical slow box

Hello. I was wondering if I could use this by adding a screwdriver head to the part that spins on the motor? Would this add torque to the head? Thank you.
@escain
@escain 5 жыл бұрын
It definitively add torque to the head, but it IMO would not work as a decent screwdriver for two reasons: The power of the motor is not enough and the design is not strong enough for the screws: with a stronger motor, plastic parts would just break.

If you like tune and fix things then geeetech might be a good choice. Print quality without mods is poorly, mainly because of "Z wobbling". But considering the price (under 200€) I think this is good starting point in world of 3d printing.
