Do you know of any other support-less / support-free mini sculptors I've missed? Feel free to shout them out in the comments and I'll update the video description with your suggestions!

not minis, but I've got some support-less terrain pieces for wargaming all made for FDM. I'm Arcane Whiskers on Myminifactory

Check out Teirale. His works are awesome

I'm partial to Fat Dragon Games. Both their minis and terrain rarely needs supports (and come presupported when needed)

Check out Ill Gotten Games as well.

Duncan Shadow is now producing a few supportless minis each month. Search for "support free" in their MMF store.

A while ago I ordered me some turtlefolk models by EC3D from a local printer with a commercial license and had them scaled up to something like 6 - 6.5 cm instead of the normal size and the Turtle Traveler was probably some of the most fun I've had painting since I started. Blowing these models up really brings out the effort EC3D put in the detail and lets you go wild with painting.

Great video, regardless of printing considerations, this is also a style of minis that are not too hard to paint and practical to put on the table for gaming.

Fat Dragon Games has good supportless models aimed at FDM users.

They also have two videos on printing profiles! Their older one is for Cura and 0.4mm nozzles, and their newer one is for Bambu and 0.2mm nozzles. The Cura one is super outdated but still a pretty decent primer for printing FDM miniatures. The Bambu one is made for the A1 Mini (I think) but I’ve based my current P1P profile on it and had a ton of luck. Those settings should work great in Prusa as well, but the downside is that it’s 0.2mm specifically.

@@caketality I also put the slicer settings in, using a 0.2 nozzle and bought the recommended pla and my prints are coming out fairly close to resin prints. Would love a resin printer but have nowhere safe to use it.

Thanks for the time and effort for the support free miniature sculptors. I just got my 3d printer two weeks ago. Do you have any suggestions or guidance for the sci-fi minature sculptors?
@Painted4Combat3 ай бұрын
Don't have much experience with Sci-Fi sculptors, but EC3D (as mentioned in the video) also has a Sci-Fi range of minis that look great and I believe are also support-free!

Great video! I was gifted an entry level FDM printer for my birthday in June. I have been printing up a storm with some free minis from Thingiverse, but they often fail because they are spindly and they're not very detailed. I have got about a dozen good prints but I feel it's time to shell out a few bucks to see how much better paid minis might be. This list is perfect for beginners like me and I especially appreciate noting which sculptors are doing everyday folk which as you note are difficult to find! Thanks very much; I'm off to check out the other video you mentioned!

I'd be interested to see how those highly detailed Arbiter Minis sculpts come out on an FDM printer. Ill Gotten Games and dutchmogul make excellent FDM minis, terrain and rulesets and most are free to download. I particularly like their Knights, Clods and Enforcers. Great video! Thanks for sharing!

The arbiter minis come out great on an ender 3. There are fdm test prints for all sculpts on his kickstarter pages
