nurfuermist Only about $30 for PLA and that roll will last ages.

Can you also at all do a Wii teardown and disc tray problems/troubleshooting? Ive got it so that GC discs go in and get spat out right away. But if i turn it off it works just once and then rinse and repeat!?!? Lots of grinding geary type noises too. But yeh let us know if you can. Keep up excellent work bud.

Looks like a cool little unit for the price. Is it 220-240v?

The printer itself is 12V 10A DC... but the power brick can accept anywhere from 100-240V AC so it's universal worldwide like nearly all appliances these days. It came shipped from the US to AUS with a US power lead, so I just replaced that with a local AUS one. Easy.

I'm selling parts now, but not the SMS DPad just yet. I'm still working on the design for the two versions (Octagon and Square inside the controller). Im mainly trying to solve the sloppiness issue with the square version.

Global Garage Yes you did say that. Ive got one just hanging by thread and a mint one coming in post. A 3rd one has Dpad missing so id definitly buy a few off you let me know when ready. Also reliable rubber contacts supplier .. yeh also let me know cheers

Is the LEDs about curing of the plastic or something?

no the fans do the cooling, the LEDs are just there to see what's going on.

I though you were using a cooling fan with ABS plastic and I was so confused xD 😕 Then I realized it was PLA....you should give ABS a try as it is much stronger...but needs a heated bed. I have the Prusa i3 printer and design using Autodesk Inventor Pro 2015 edition.

Hi Owen, yep it's PLA. It's actually really strong and seems plenty for this model. I also have some black PLA+ which is the annealed version which is even stronger. I haven't had a chance to try ABS or any other filament as I thought it needed an enclosure to keep the temps up? My printer does have a heated bed that goes to 90 so that's ok, but for the enclosure, I was going to simply put a storage tub right over the printer :) Any other tips for ABS? Favourite models to print?

Global Garage I can print abs with some acetone juice (adhesion technique) to help it stick to the bed. Some on my larger models still lift but thats probably because I print with no raft. I really liked printing the planetary gear set found on thingiverse but cases for my raspberry pi that look like retro consoles are also on my list of things to print! By the way I love your repair videos! oh ya, I have no enclosure.

I thought 3D printing was $1000 entry point, but it turns out the last few years have seen heaps of cheap printers hit the market. Good times! :)
