3D Printing Beginner: How I wash and cure my resin prints (Elegoo Mercury XS)

I'm also new to resin 3d printing and found as you did that there are no demos on post-print processing. I have chosen to use water-washable resin from the outset to reduce my exposure to chemicals. I'm very pleased with the results so far. One or two observations regarding the build plate: I clean mine as soon as the parts have been removed so there is no residue to harden off. Also, I try not to put pressure on the mounting piece when I'm levering the parts off, just in case I screw up the levelling setting. Finally, I avoid using a metal scraper on the build plate. If you put larger flat parts horizontal like that, they are more likely to warp. Tilt them at an angle so they are much taller in Z. You'll also be able to space the supports out more like that so they're easier to remove. Also, being on an angle allows the supports to keep the parts from deflecting while printing as they form nice triangulated structures. Your flat bottomed round part would also benefit from being tilted 30-45°

No worries! I haven't seen many videos talking about print orientation for larger flatter items. I learned through printing a lot for work. I'm sure you will pick it up quickly!

I love the sterile model display. Not the prettiest but I bet you wont find a cleaner model in a museum. I like how he thinks. Practical and has a purpose. Sorry I know, nothing to do with the topic at hand. I just purchased a Saturn 3 ultra and the Mercury xs cleaning station. I still cant get over how professional your lab looks. Is that in your house? I would love to have a proper lab/ workshop. I have to get the oldest child to move out, lol.

This is not in my main house: I build it in the backyard recently. The build series for the studio is a 10 part series with a new episode releasing every Friday.

I’ve printed a whole bunch of Mk 82 snake eye’s for an Intruder model. Also a lot of parts for a car model. There are sites out there to find print files.

hey I am new to resin 3d printing, I know some people use like an air brush but do you immediately start washing after the print is done? also after the wash in IPA do you immediately cure it as well? Also how do you tell how much time for each cure and wash? thank you in advance

I do. 2.30 mins for everything. If it is larger and still looks tacky I do another min or two. But I never exceed 5 mins. Over curing will make it brittle.
