Cool this method should be fine for fast projects. If you want to go in more details i would recomend c4d or even element 3d but they cost money. Good luck and thanks for watching

Make sure your ai layer is turned to shape layer. Right click on the phone layer and crate shape layer. Cheers

Hm it is hard to say without seeing your comp. Try to up the composition size in pixels. Make sure the view resolution is on full.

Thanks dude. This is only a renderer. So I dont think it can handle any c4d plugins. If you want to go in 3d more detail i recommend to use element 3d which is really powerful with AE. Cheers

I have a problem, when I wanna add a color to the side and back of the phone, it errors "after effect warning: To apply a surface material option to multiple shapes at once, select "group (empty) from add menu, and put the desired shapes into that group. Then select the new group and add the material options."

Yes you can use a screencast from an app or any video. Make sure the screen ratio is right for the iphone screen.

Hi, It is not an effect. When you switch to cinema4D renderer your shape layer will have extra settings/options to extrude your shapes. Make sure your little "sun" icon on a layer is un checked. So not restarize the layer.

When i put all the clips into 3d my screen doesn't disappear.... then when i move the Y rotation on the phone it doesnt follow it and stays still :/

Interesting. It should work with png too. Try to replace the ai file with a png. Put it into the same location.

That is weird. It shouldn't do that. The c4d renderer needs some computing power so it might be your computer. Make sure you are using the most updated AE too.

Yes unfortunately After Effects require lots of ram. Optimal is 16GB or higher. Im using 32GB ram

Why do you pre compose the screen?

It is easier to put content there. Let's say if you want to create lots of layers and animation there your main composition will stay clear and won't be too much layer. It is basically help to organise your layers and helps to put content on the screen easily and fast.

It should be some option to make the edges curved when you extrude your object. Play around with the settings.

I'm not sure the 15 cc has this features. Check it. You might have it in the 2015. If not you have to upgrade your after effects to a newer version.
