3D Volumetric Shadows in Unity

Hey guys, this is one of the last shadow-related topics i worked on.
Disclaimer : this is not a light shaft technique nor a volumetric light technique. This is basically a mesh created by the projection of some object vertices in the light direction, depending on what type of light it is.
I admit the shadows can behave weirdly sometimes in motion, still this is great for static shadows. I'm working on a fix for that ;)
Let me know if you're interested in a tutorial or some explanations.
Also, the channel grows way faster than i thought. I created a discord server to discuss about the videos and to build a little community of game dev enjoyers, like me :D

Nice, so the interactive shadows from the previous video are also meshes ? I know just enough on the mesh creation, but how do you get the light rays informations ? I didn't study how light works in unity yet and I'm pretty curious. Good job mate

You will have more insights with the upcoming tutorial I guess ;) About the light rays information, it just depends on the type of light you're using. You can get the position of your light by referencing it for example and then determine the light direction depending on the light type. It's actually more about geometry (I mean mathematically speaking) than about light itself I guess
