Octane 2020 Introduction Tutorial with Cinema 4D R21

I expected to see new features of octane 2020 but looked through the introductory tutorial on the octane which is done in older versions of render

The entire video is recorded with Octane 2020 XB2 and cinema 4D R21. The aim of the video is not to showcase new 2020 features, it is a beginners introduction to Octane (and just happens to use 2020)

In your example the visible texture environment its easy to set one color as background but I cant figure out to make it gradient, lighter in the middle darker on the corners like a vignette. I set it but its not proportional to the frame, I mean i want the cube in the lighter middle but the colored vignette is off the screen. Can u explain how to adjust/scale it to fit? thanks in advance.

I thought the full package was great, and helped me advance- however now that octane has moved on have any plans to do a follow up to all the new bits - know V2023 is about to be beta tested too mind you and its all change again.

thinking to buy the course, but not sure if I really need it.. i know the basics of Octane from Lynda and materials course from Cgshortcuts. Is it only for those who don't know any of Octane / C4D? Is there a syllabus?

I think the title being Octane 2020 means users will assume its bleeding tech tutorials tho - hence the comments below. Beginners Octane 2020 tutorial with Cinema 4D R21 should stop the confusion. :)

I'm considering it, the problem is that it takes quite a lot of time to learn it to a level where I am happy teaching it. It is only after a year of full time use in Octane that I feel I am in a position to actually showing others how to use it.

OCTANE cannot work in C4DR21, how did you do it? Load OCTANE, C4DR21 will freeze

Why wouldn't Octane work with R21? Octane works with all versions of Cinema 4D

Hey! I have a problem with installing purchased octane for c4d R21, it does not seem to pop up anywhere on the bar, anyone has the same issue?

Usually this is because it has installed to the wrong place. c4d has a user plugin folder and a c4d plugin folder. Uninstall everything and make sure it goes to the user plugins folder, not c:/program files/cinema 4d/plugins/
