Im not sure if the wind pushing on the scale is a good measurement of thrust, but then again, it’d be hard to mount the propeller to a scale unordered to measure the actual push and still be able to hand crank it. An excellent video nonetheless, you have built some impressive gear inductions!

God has said in the Quran: { O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - ( 2:21 ) [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. ( 2:22 ) And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. ( 2:23 ) But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.( 2:24 ) And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally. ( 2:25 ) Quran

Lesson learned "sharp & light blades provides more thrust
@animationspace8550
@animationspace8550 3 жыл бұрын
@Ribbat Ali Well from what I know, which I may be wrong, the weight of the propeller isn't directly tied to the force of thrust provided as the force of thrust is not from the mass and speed of the propeller but rather the mass and speed of the air it pushes. If the propeller weighs less, it should be a lot more beneficial as what matters is how much air it redirects, and those should not be directly tied from my prior knowledge. Should go without saying though, sharper blades can cut through air much better.

Try adding a flywheel at 1:1 or even gear it down as well, this should help a ton with keeping the whole mechanism going at a stable rate + making it easier to reach higher speeds and keeping it there.

IMHO, you should’ve clamped down the gearbox to the table to guarantee a defined and consistent distance. The flight pioneer Otto Lilienthal constructed horizontal rotors for different wing profiles, rotated these with a constant angular momentum and measured the weight reduction caused by the lift the rotor generated.
