If you purchased a Phrozen Sonic Mini, please DO NOT use Siraya Tech FAST resin until further notice. A few folks from the FB group have noticed that Siraya Tech FAST interacts with the red plastic vat causing the resin to cure prematurely even without UV light. Phrozen is investigating this issue.

So, if it prints at 2 seconds per layer and 2 seconds in between that would be 4 secs per layer. If the print height is about 130mm then printing at .05mm that's 2600 layers. Would this mean that it prints at a max time of 3 hours?
@3DPrintFarm4 жыл бұрын
@@xicledragon Excellent question. The Sonic Mini has a 'recovery time' called the "Light Off Delay". This allows for the travel time of the plate as well as to allow the resin to settle down.. making waves per se. :) This accounts for the extended time. You can tweak this number which I have current set up at 7 seconds, but it could possibly effect the print quality of the model.

Great little printer, just to be clear, my understanding is that it takes the same time to print multiple as it does a single, say a ring for instance! is this correct?
@BrianVillegas675 жыл бұрын
Yes, unlike a conventional FDM printer, multiples on these types of printers (DLP) take the same amount of time to print as a single. The time is based on the number of layers. So the total time to print is based on the number of layers in the tallest model. Whenever I print anything, I always make sure to fill up the whole build plate with other things that I'll need as well, or copies of the same thing.
@fckimmel4 жыл бұрын
Hello Colin; It is partially the resin that decreases cure time, but the speed of the print is determined by the height, (Z axis). The shorter the Z axis, the shorter the print time. Less layers, less time. You can have multiple objects on the build platform, and they will ALL print at the same time. If any object is taller than the others, that object will determine the time needed to print.

So monochrome is the reason for the faster cure times? Sounds like we can buy a new LCD and put it on a better printer right? I know this machine gets good results, but I don't like its mechanicals much. Having to unscrew the vat completely and then lift it off; the rough mechanical design of the build plate and the necessarily more-complex clean-up; the short z-height. They should have just mated the monochrome LCD with an Elegoo Mars-style printer and then sold them like hotcakes.
