I was asked about the FBX files, this script only works with OBJ files, for the FBX, you don't have this issue of names conflict. All you have to do: In the FBX Import dialog, Include group, File content drop down menu, choose Add, then click OK

Hi, do you know how to add .CHR and .ANI files?

Hi, personally i never worked with these files before. But i didn't understand what you really want to do with these file types inside Max. As far as a know, .ANI files store the animated windows cursor images. .CHR files store specific information for some game. Are you asking maybe if you can control or manipulate the content of these files from Maxscript?
