I really love Megamind's arc. He was never truly a villain. He just accepted the role everyone labeled him as. And while he did enjoy his best friend Minion, the gadgets, the banter with Metroman, and the theatrics of it all, he never truly wanted world domination. So he tried to create a new hero, who turned out to be an actual villain. But with the help of those he cares about, he was able to defeat Titan and become the hero he was destined to be. It's a beautiful story, and an excellent subversion of stereotypical superhero genre tropes at the time.

⁠@@judgedread4929He never expected that he would ever kill Metro Man though, like how the moment he is presumed dead, even he’s shocked by it. And also, he only first pretended to be someone else so that he wouldn’t be caught vulnerable like that to Roxanne, the whole dating stuff was probably weird, but you can sorta see where he was coming from initially knowing he wouldn’t be accepted, even if we don’t agree with it.

It's pretty neat how way back in 2010 an incel was made to be the main villain in a superhero film. I like how Megamind pretty much had the same experience as Hal who felt like an outsider but he choose to be a good person and deep down didn't actually mean to harm anyone

Megamind is definitely one of the studio’s underrated! It has a lot of clever humor in it. It tends to make fun of superhero clichés and super villain clichés. Megamind seems like a character we should be hating, but he becomes more developed and a pretty nice guy. He even ends up becoming the hero at the end which is nice. I also thought the voice acting was excellent! I really needed this reaction to erase my memory of watching the trailer for the new sequel.

Something I heard someone point out once, was that Music Man chose music since it’s one of the few things that he isn’t automatically great at, something that his super powers can’t influence, it was something he can only improve on on his own without any outside influence and I think that’s just really neat

Megamind is such a philosophical classic and a nostalgic masterpiece. legit everyone in this movie was going through an existential life crisis that cultivated into the iconic metro man scene which is still my favorite part of the movie. it just shows how being the hero isn't really all its meant to be and just cause you were made to be a villian doesn't mean you actually are. paths are meant to be destined the way that you want it to be and thats what helped megamind as metroman showed him that he could do good and be a far greater hero than he was which is what makes the ending heartwarming as he finally has happiness

Surprisingly enough I’m one of the few folks who never criticize and called _Megamind_ a Despicable Me knock-off and was doing something different with its story compared to _Despicable Me_ and appreciate both films.

FYI: The scene that Metro explains how he faked his death is connected with those first scenes when Megamind makes a video call. If you pay attention on the Metro Man's screen it's glitch for a sec. That glitch is when he moved fast! Plus: Roxanne's dresses are how close she is from Megamind. At the start, she was using Red, at the end Blue.

Megamind is a goated movie :) did you know they’re making and releasing a second movie called Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate, and they’re making a Megamind TV show too! Seriously! i never knew about this until i read the top comment and check it out and to be honest with you the new voices don't sound that good sadly. also Megamind already fought the Doom Syndicate in the PS3/PSP games which was released years ago. oh and don't forget about Megamind and The Button of Doom. that short film pretty much acts as a sequel to the first movie as well.
