“A Pal for Gary” would have to be the episode that kids would be the most terrified for. The design for “Puffy Fluffy” was so creative and horrifying, it’s pretty unbelievable that it was made by SpongeBob animators. It actually looks more like something out of a Courage episode or an animated monster movie.

I REALLY don't know why they made SpongeBob out to be even more evil than Puffy Fluffy. Like he was in the middle of getting eaten and as Gary was saving him, he was yelling at Gary for "hurting" Puffy Fluffy? I know SpongeBob isn't the brightest but he's not supposed to be that full blown stupid.

I had them at 3-3. Squidward won in Band Geeks, House Fancy, and Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful Squilliam won in Squilliam Returns, Professor Squidward, and I ❤ Dancing Squilliam makes future appearances (one later on in Season 7, another in Season 10, and his most recent appearance as of now in Season 11) but he only makes cameos in them and it doesn’t contribute to the rivalry. Hopefully we’ll get an episode in the coming seasons that breaks the tie!

Out of all the infamous SpongeBob episodes that I watched when I was a kid, "A Pal For Gary" was the only episode that I actually hated even as a kid. With all the other infamous episodes, I never really saw them as being bad episodes until I got older, but this episode was enough to annoy me even as a kid, and that was back when I had extremely low standards for cartoon episodes. Now though, I don't think I really dislike any of the infamous SpongeBob episodes that much anymore, except for "SpongeBob, You're Fired". When I first watched the premiere of "A Pal For Gary" as a kid, I was excited at first because I thought SpongeBob was gonna have a permanent secondary pet alongside Gary throughout the rest of the series, and I was disappointed when the new pet turned out to be evil because that's when I knew it wasn't gonna stay with them by the end of the episode. That said, I do think the pet's monstrous design actually looks pretty cool. Also, SpongeBob was so dumb in the episode that he makes Patrick look smart in comparison. Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I think "Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful" was Squilliam's last appearance in this show.

A Pal 4 Gary. What I hate about this episode is not on SpongeBob acting out of character but being blind and ignorant. Not to mention letting Gary getting abused by the critter. What pissed me off the most about this episode is the fact that SpongeBob literally almost gets eaten by the critter at the end. But then Gary comes to the rescue and actually saves SpongeBob's life. But dispite what happened in the end SpongeBob still ends up punishing Gary.
