If the game engine doesn't handle it for you, then you have to explicitly write code to handle most things, like adding a filter here to prevent a player's bullet hit detection from hitting that same player.

If you are going to do a follow-up to this video (because they patched it any you may like to investigate if your suspections are true), you may also want to add this: For context, at 6:43 you quoted the Valve Dev Wiki, saying that 512 units equal about 10 meters. As it turns out, literally *yesterday* some users discussed that Source (as well as Source 2) may have two different scales: _One using 1u = 0.75 inches, and one using 1u = 1 inch._ The first one seems to be used more for mapping, the other one more for physics and entitiy models. Maybe you should check out that discussion on your own - I'm not a native speaker, and also I'm not as famliar with it as you are (even if you may have only used one of its tools for mapping). Either way, the bottom line is: Assuming 1u = 1 inch, 15 meters equal 590.5512 u, which is exactly what your testing has found out. This, of course, opens up a few more questions: Which measuring system should CSGO gameplay use? Why even bother with two systems? Why is this only published the day after you have finished the creation of this video? Edit: We have met last year at Cologne, Saturday or Sunday (idk which) evening at one of the crossings close to the arena. You were in a hurry to meet your friends at a restaurant, and we were in a talk about your brothers Odgrub series of videos, waiting for the light to become green. I want to apologize that I have expressed myself in such a way that was insulting you/your brother or was discrediting the series of videos. I did not intend it to be that way, I'm sorry.

one thing that could be happening here is that the distance calculation is done serverside, and if it hits, it only tells the client that they got a successful shot, not how, leaving the client to calculate the distance themselves, which may be incorrect due to small differences between client/server state

@@3kliksphilip I understand that BUT I have to point out, because I don't know if you saw that or not, every measure on that list (for example - the 10 meters) has "~" symbol which means, as you probably know, "approximately" while the 1 meter is the only one with "=" symbol, which obviously means "equal". EDIT: Also, as I just realized, those 10 meters is an approximate to 32 inches which is then EXACTLY 512 units. So 10 meters is really an APPROXIMATE of 512 units. Which is still weird considering that actual 15 meters in units in-game were nowhere near the calculated numbers which completely baffles me.
