The minimum that was projected was 10 billion. There was outlandish speculation of 100 billion given the bellwether results. That's excessive and would never happen. But I dont think that its out of line to demand a 25 billion settlement. The average around the lawfirms were speculating a 20 billion dollar settlement. The thing that is throwing a monkeywrench into it is the actual number of cases. The actual number is 256,000ish. That number keeps getting inflated to 300,000 when in reality that number will end up being less than 256,000 when its all said and done. Now at 25 billion with 256,000 people that comes out to approximately $100,000, which is 4% of the average bellwether result. After 40% lawyer fees veterans are looking at $60,000 over 5 years which is only going to equate to about $1,000 a month. When talking about permanent hearing damage and the liable company denying that the product is faulty and refusing to admit guilt as part of the settlement agreement, I think $60,000 is more than fair. But as it sits with this current offer 3m is saying that our permanent disabilities are our own doing and that $200 a month should be enough to pay for the damages. The lawyers representing the veterans should be ashamed of having this offer being released. Its an absolute joke. No one in their right mind thinks that $8,600 is a fair number, nor will they accept it.

As a veteran in this lawsuit, I feel like the only people winning are the lawyers! Sounds like, lf im lucky I may get $8,000 paid out over 5 years, so a hundred dollars a month for losing my hearing in my left ear. Kinda of wish I didn't do it just so they don't get my 40%!

@thenewone3944 5.5 billion divide by 300k is 18,333 40% to lawyers and the taxes, and you're lucky if you get 8,000, then it's paid out over 5 years so divide that by 60 month and your looking at $133 a month.

@thenewone3944 So ya, if the numbers are 249k plantifs, $6 billion take away layer fees and before taxes. But they are saying it's to be paid out over 5 years. So that's $200 a month. that's still BS!

Everyone is getting different amounts, those who settle when lowballed will get 8k and I don’t know where you came up with they would pay that over time either 🤷🏻‍♂️it’s a landslide affect those who have better claims will get more.
