Many times I've pulled one of my plugs, and dude with the 300 win mag, with the muzzle break simultaneously fires and rocks my hearing for days. I have tinnitus so need a set of these. Mostly for hearing people talk, and for the range master trying to communicate with us.

The shape of your ear lobes and how sound bounces off of them is used by your brain to help you know the direction that the sound is coming from. It's not just the difference in sound levels between your right and left ear. With e-muffs on you are only getting the sound level difference. I think Smarter Every Day did a video on it.

Hiya mate - dunno if you'll get back to me on this, but I have a question. There's an autistic kid at my school who's extremely sensitive to sound and has to wear ear defenders at all times. I'm wanting to buy him some new ones as a Christmas present - some that are stronger than the ones he currently has (not sure which brand they are though). Thing is though, I have the 3M Peltor Optime III (35db) Ear Defenders because I'm also autistic and can't deal with too much noise and I use them when I'm going to an event that I know will be loud (e.g. a Pride event) - but my issue is that I can hear my own heartbeat when wearing them and I think that might frighten him and I don't want to do that, but I like the 3M Peltor brand. What 3M Peltor ear defenders would you recommend getting that are under 35db that won't frighten him by hearing his own heartbeat, but they'll still block out enough noise for him? I'm also not looking for any electric ear defenders either - I had some myself and they didn't do me much good, so I can't imagine how he'd cope with them.

Was breaking seal and pushing right electronic muff up on cheek weld when using sled, standing not so much, still hits the cheek riser, but long guns are loud and I double up.

Hi Adriel, great review! Where did you get the replacement foam rings? I also like my Peltors but but the issue with safety glasses is the only negative. Thank you

Can you listen to music at all, with these? Is that the reason behind the BT feature. I was sad to see there was no cable to plug in, and use them like traditional headphones.

Quick question, are the gel cups you're running the factory. Ups that come with the set
@Huntinggearguy4 жыл бұрын
They're the 3M upgrade ones. The factory ones are a foam style rather than gel.

Do you need radio comms connection for that job? If so, what kind of plug do you radios have?

What is the big difference between these and the Sport Tactical 300 by Peltor? Is one just an older model?
@Huntinggearguy4 жыл бұрын
You'd have to compare them side by side. The differences between eMuffs is usually electronics: how well they compress, how good the microphones are, how well they reject wind noise, etc. Fancier headsets will have nicer headbands, maybe they come with gel cups, integrated comms, Bluetooth is nice these days too.

@@Huntinggearguy Thanks, I just bought the original Tactical Sports since there are so many positive reviews.

"double up" the Peltor website states earplugs will only add 5dB protection, mind you if the seal is broken you will have the 32 dB of the earplugs as a backup
@Huntinggearguy5 жыл бұрын
Exactly. If I could keep it sealed, I'm sure it'd be fine, but when I get a good cheek rest on a rifle, it can break the seal on a set of muffs.

Can someone expain to me what you guys mean with "breaking the seal"?
@LexVergne2 жыл бұрын
@@kutteknugen Hallo kamaraden. When the hearing protection set is on correctly, it is sealed. Meaning there are no openings for sound to come in. When the “seal is broken”, it means that an opening has been created that is allowing the sound to come in.

I bought a pair and they seem good enough. I couldn't help shaking my head though at the 125 page booklet written in 29 languages. This is a pair of ear protectors for heavens sake - all you have to do is make sure you put one on each ear. I actually read the English section, which was risible. There were two pages on health and safety warnings: don't eat them - don't stick them up your arse, etc - and then two pages on operation in which there was only one sentence of use: 'Press and hold the on/off button.' The rest was warranties, limits of liabilities and statements of the blindingly obvious. I can't help thinking that this item could probably sell for half the price if 3M wasn't employing armies of people to write this sort of rubbish for half-wits.

We have lawyers to thank for that. Anytime anyone does something retarded, it's always someone elses fault, especially when they can get some money out of it. Can't blame em for the booklet. Although I must admit it's primarily a US thing. Overhere the judge will kick your ass with nonsense like that.

They are useless, 2 days shooting in the rain destroyed them , cost more to repair as a new set .
