My stock seat was rubbing the paint on my bobber. So i grabbed some 3M paint protection film and gave it a go.

I too have a matte Bobber and bought the luggage rack which only comes in gloss. Took it to a local guy, and for $25 he stripped it and powder coated it in matte finish. Looks much better.

Brad Sonnicksen man that’s cheap. I could see it happening here for like $75. Ya. Was looking at it as well. There are a few gloss details on the bike. But I don’t intend on leaving it on. It’s more just for the trip to California.

I’ve been waiting for this video! And after having watched it, there’s no effing way I’m doing that. Kudos on the patience and perseverance
@jay_fast5 жыл бұрын
Jeffrey Moat ha. I watched a lot of KZbin on how to do it. The stuff really stretches. I don’t know if I would attempt the tank. But the fender wasn’t too bad. I’d do it again. It was cheap off amazon. Spray bottle came from the dollar store. Same with the squeegee. All in I was like $30.

I'm impressed that you didn't change the seat yet, at least in my bobber, the stock seat is a pain in the ass (literally) after 45 min
@jay_fast5 жыл бұрын
PacoMtzRoman it’s happening. Will be ordering in less than a week. I did give the stock seat the old college try. Have about 12,500km on the bike.
@justthetipin4 жыл бұрын
What seat did you get? And do you still have the stock suspension? That is more of a pain in the a$$ than the seat!
@raymunchieftain41705 жыл бұрын
Jay Fast, that is some good work and patience always prevails. Great Bike ! I can tell that you ride that Bobber like you stole it, I was scoping your rear tire. Ride on. Be safe on your long ride.
@jay_fast5 жыл бұрын
Raymun Chieftain haha. Ya that tire is something else. I have the replacements ready to go on. Hoping to do that in the next week or two. Thanks for the support and kind works.

I just went to chemical guys and picked up some leather conditioning for my seat and other cleaners. Good stuff. Your first video for matte paint helped me decide on it. The rack looks good. That saddle bag is a pain. With the sissy bar rack and Corbin seat just a massive pain lol. More good things for the Cali trip!!!!
@jay_fast5 жыл бұрын
Adventures of the bearded Bobber the CG stuff does make the seat a bit slick. But it’s good stuff

Did the instructions tell you anything about using heat on the plastic wrap ?
@jay_fast5 жыл бұрын
Chuck Lome there were no instructions. Just want I watched on KZbin. I think there are some brands that are heat reactive. But I’m not the guy to know about that. I’d have to do more research.

Great job Mate. Very nice bike. I love your patience. I wish I could ride a cruiser but are unable to because of my back for some weird reason. I can ride roads bike without any issue I a ride an old Hornet 2007. The rack looks great. Thanks for sharing !

Youre out riding. That’s all that matters. I figured I’d give it a go. Everything came from amazon for cheap. So why not. Thanks for the support and comments!

Great intro! I'm looking at products that protect paintwork, I'd love some future tech that invisibly coats the whole bike and keeps it perfect forever.

Measure twice cut once jay!! Lol That’s funny i got the luggage rack too when i ordered the side saddle bag. I also left it off but am putting it on for potentially making my way out there. Im wondering if installing passenger footpegs and just pull tying a cushion on it would be good enough for a temp passenger seat? Any thoughts? Great video man
@jay_fast5 жыл бұрын
Measure??? Fuck it. Jesus take the wheel. 😎 I for sure think that would work. The rack is plenty beefy.

You could have just used mylar tape under the contact points. You can buy it buy the roll and change it whenever you want and even layer it for for protection.

Hey Jay, not sure if you remember me (Ryan from California) but you helped me last year when I ran into some trouble trying to do my DynoJet flash. Anyway, I'm in the middle of transforming my 2015 Scout into a Scout Bobber. It's a long story...So you are coming out to California? I'll try and find a video where you talk about it to get the details but would be cool to meet up with you while you are down here!
@jay_fast5 жыл бұрын
SuburbanHobbyist for sure I remember. So the plan is we are leaving victoria on July 20. Hitting up Portland and then will be in San Francisco area for the 24th Palm Springs the 26,27th. Then the morning of the 28th we head to Vegas. Then up to Reno/Carson city and back home to victoria. That the jist of it. Many stops in between. Would love to meet up.

@@jay_fast That is one hell of a road trip! Have you planned your routes out yet? Curious which way you will go to get from San Fran to Palm Springs. If you take the 5 then you will be driving right by me. I'll hit you up on Instagram.
@jay_fast5 жыл бұрын
SuburbanHobbyist not entirely sure. But most likely we will stick to the 101. Maybe the 1. The I5 is a bit of a bear. Meatball rebel is meeting us in San Fran and hopefully rite on Jon. Will take their lead from there. But ya. We should see if we can make this work.

@@jay_fast I chatted with Viking and they don't have any bags specifically for the Bobber yet. But there's this place in Italy that does! www.endscuoio.com/product-category/indian-en/scout-bobber-en/
