3M Tech Tips: Automotive Foam Applications in Door Skin Replacement

Can this be used as sound deadening of unreachable cavities? Example; I've a 97 MX-5 Miata and between the boot and where the top meets the rear of the car (that 4-5in long panel that sits between the chrome hardtop bolts), underneath that is a cavity that isn't used by anything and I suspect a good deal of NVH may be resonating in there and amplifying it's detrimental sounds. Could ither of those foams be applied back there and kill all the airborne noise as well as panel vibrations?

Which product do you recommend when replacing a Ford fender? The type that are foamed to the A-pillar? Also, what instance would you recommend the NVH foam versus the flexible foam? Such as one fills better, etc??

Why not use the usual spray foam - PU expanding spray foam that meets the harshest working conditions found in construction industry including things like roofing that are exposed to the elements all the time?

Do I even bother looking up the price for these items? Cheaper to buy another door at Pick n Pull. But I gather these vids are for Body Shop owners.

If they are writing the preliminary estimate then compare labour and materials with your own estimating software. When the prices don't line up email the appropriate price corrections to the appraiser. If they don't comply, inform them that they will be responsible for the additional repair cost down the road... get this in writing.

Great stuff low expanding door and window foam. same result $8 a can. I would never use neither product on a car.

That’s an ignorant comment, first of all this is nowhere near the same product as that, and this product has been engineered specifically for this purpose.

Seems your product is MUCH more flexible than OEM products. Why are you showing Duramix products that 3M bought out long ago. Duramix wasn't that good to begin with. You should spend less on advertising and buyout better companies.
