I watch your videos religiously Keith, you're one of the few youtubers that cover all the bases - woodworking, home repairs, quick/cheap fixes and custom made furniture. You do it all with complete transparency. Definitely take on sponsors you need to pay the bills and be rewarded for your hard work. Thank you for all the great content and congrats on the birth of your baby boy 🎉

Keith, It might be completely against your values to not advertise in every video - but I'm sure the audience here understands the use of ads if you do need to advertise more. Personally, I would have no problem if I saw more ads on the channel - if it meant you being able to create the content YOU want to make, and the audience wants to see. You're one of the few channels that I get genuinely excited by seeing a new video, a few extra ads in videos won't change that. Keep up the entertaining content mate!!! Also, a big congratulations on the baby - hope you are all doing well.

I would highly disagree. I think this entire online industry whoooring itself out to any sponsor is what is making the viewership drop. I know its why I watch less and less videos overall in this area. Everything turns into one big marketing channel eventually. I think the integrity of the channel is much more important....otherwise just throw in the towel and be like everyone else. Up to him.

As always, thanks for all of the great content, especially with a little one to take care of. I can't wait to see the new designs and tools you have after your workshop is finished.

Hi, the timing is funny, some weeks ago, I completely changed my shop set up. I got rid of my band saw, my scroll saw, my drill press, and combination jointer/thicknesser, keeping simply my table saw, and buyed a thicknesser. I have more place and enjoy my time more than ever. battery Hand held tools + table saw + thicknesser is enough

I'm just someone who has discovered your videos in the last few weeks, and am currently binge watching a load of them - you have skills (which I currently don't, hence me watching!) and you explain things superbly well, and you always have one eye on the budget (it drives me mad how some KZbin DIY/Woodworkers just throw money at every problem, whereas you find cost effective solutions) so although I haven't given you money (coz I don't have much, for which I'm sorry) I do like and respect what you do and the way you do it. It's a perfect storm, just at a time when people would be looking at DIY ideas to cost save, materials are ridiculously expensive, especially things like wood. Where as before I just used to mess around trying things because wood was cheap now I'm really cautious and the first try has to be the final try. Such a shame about birch ply, I had loads of projects in mind with that in mind that I've had to can.

Congratulations, glad all is going well at home. As for the channel, it must be frustrating to see numbers and revenue dipping in spite of consistent quality. Take the sponsors if you can get them, if it keeps the show running then why not? We’ve all got bills to pay! I’ll miss your oil wax finish though, I will say. Great call on Daisy tempests channel as well, she’s awesome.

Provided you don't start selling your opinion or 'reviewing' the same claptrap that every other YT channel does within a week of each other -- do what you need to. Your content is good, and your 'salvage/reuse/repurpose' approach, which has always been great, is now very relevant when so many people are trying to find a way to do *something* without spending scarce £££. If that means a sponsor message or two, bring it on.

Congratulations on the birth of your son Keith he'll grow up to be another you mate. I've always found your videos to be clear and concise every time and I think when it comes to sponsors, people tend to sit on the edge of the seat because of their advertisement or what they deal in would seem a bit off putting. At the moment I don't post videos on KZbin but it's one thing I'd probably need a lot of advice with if and when I perhaps start posting. Great video chap

Hi Keith, very many congratulations on baby Brown. I hope that you’re all well. I’ve watched this video and thought I’d share a point of view that might grate, but it’s my honest observation. You said that subscriptions are down. It is my opinion that this may be because your channel has evolved, a natural progression, but has changed direction from its beginnings. Your previous content involved restoration work (the origin of the name of the channel?) and small to medium sized projects. This more recently is not the case and you aren’t alone in this. Your channel has become “Keith Does Up His Home”. Again, nothing wrong with this but if like me you were in at the start because of the content of the channel and this has now changed direction, why subscribe? Andy Mac’s channel, Gosforth Handyman has gone the same way. From helpful tips, quick fixes and general how-to’s to “look at my house”. I also would not have expected Rag ‘N’ Bone Brown to be showcasing premium tools. There’s quite a paradox in running a series of videos with a budget theme to them and then comparing two sanders which a quick search of Amazon shows to be between £500-700 each! Upcoming videos on how you’re swapping around your workshop? My workshop resembles yours in as much as it’s got 4 walls, a roof and it’s where I do stuff. I won’t be waiting on these videos because the chances of me learning anything, let alone having a go to similarly implement the same changes are nonexistent. If the tool you’re getting rid of is what I think it is I have no doubt that you’ll get by without it using your other machinery. However that self same tool is a mainstay of many workshops around the world. I realise that you’re pretty much ‘all-in’ as a KZbinr for your job, but what you put out as YT content may no longer be what your one-time subscribers are looking at for entertainment or education. The subscriptions will only come if you’re making the content that people want.

I understand you're upset that my content has changed but surely you appreciate that from my perspective after making 480 videos, I might get a bit bored of doing the same thing over and over and over again? Do you want me to pick projects that I have lost interest in? Or wouldn't you think it would be better content if I did the things that I wanted to do? Besides, my last restoration video got about 27k views, my last " Keith does up his home" videos consistently get 100k or more. Appreciate your views, but I think I know best what is best for my channel. Thanks, Keith

Very prudent decision to keep Baby Brown's particulars off the internet until later. One does NOT want trolls taking revenge for imagined slights via children. And please don't be concerned about sponsorship. Your integrity shines though every line in your productions and all viewers know it-or should. Please keep up the good work... but only in a manner and at a pace consistent with economic reality and parenthood. Some things matter more than others. And as Calvin Trillin wisely observed in his last book (About Alice):"...your children are either the center of your life or they’re not, and the rest is commentary.”
