So excluding those special mons, regular mons from the rest of the game. Would be really interesting to see if they can actually keep up.

@@LordEmvee Well looking at a list of mons on showdown, it would seem like the only mons like that which are really good together are stall mons. But I think making a sand team would be a lot of fun because stuff Exacdril and Tyranitar can ramp up damage a lot and it might make you use mons from lower tiers as well. You can have Clefable for healing, Chinese Mamoswine or Closdsire for bulk, Skarmory for support. Stuff like that. There wouldn't be one time pokémon like great tusk and starters can't be caught in the wild as well. So I think it might be an interesting concept to see how well regular pokemon do vs the current OU tier.

That's awesome :) Unwavering heart is such a pleasant tune. I used to play a lot of piano as well when I was younger, classics like mozart bach etc. But I always had a musical ear and can now still hear a pokemon tune and translate that onto the piano, only with 1 hand though

@@LordEmvee yeeesss And sorry to further comment on this, but back then, pok blue/red started with that famous pokemon tone (when gengar and nidorino are fighting), then you beat all the gyms and the champion. Then you embark on pokemon gold/silver with a new protagonist; beat all the gyms and become the new champion, go back to the old region, beat everyone again and then beat your your character from the previous game on a mountaintop duel, credits roll and the last sound you hear is that very same tone of back then when nidorino and gengar were fighting but in a more melancholic way and the adventure closes. Its just brilliant.

it's been years since i've played black and white, but i thought the way mummy worked wasn't by transforming the opponent's ability into mummy, and instead it worked pretty much like skill swap (the opponent gets mummy while you take their ability). did it get changed at some point or did i just imagine the whole thing?

i believe that is runerigus' ability wandering spirit which trades abilities on contact instead of replacing it with mummy like cofagrigus' ability :)

​@@LordEmvee They leaned much more into the dark underbelly of what it would look like if you wanted to be a pokemon trainer but werent living next door to a proven expert on whatever pokemon mechanic the recent generation decided to focus on. Colosseum especially went with a story of a person who did dirty, was done dirty in return and who tried to do right in a way they could, twisted as it might be. Pokemon never starred an antihero again like Wes was in Colosseum but I really wish they did. And the music all but reflects that. :D

Here's a question for you: Would slow start be better if it didn't reset upon switching and ticked down even while Regigigas is outside of battle?

I would say 100% yes :) because you could switch in, protect, switch out, and do a bunch of stuff that can finally bring it in later at full power. The move Rest used to reset turns when switching out, until it didn't anymore. Why not Slow Start too?

I just wish that traunt worked like it's mystery dungeon counterpart, where you could use stuff like slack-off or yawn on truanting turns. If yawn bypassed substitute and protect, it'd work much better for the king of sloths
