I love how NECA tells the people to make sure they carefully pack the item for shipment when they can't ever manage to do that themselves, even with Con-exclusive items with unnecessarily elevated shipping costs lol. I really like some of their product, but this is such a bad look all the way around.

It's the world we live in. Big companies are more than happy to force us to suffer the consequences if any one of us made a mistake. For a company to make threats?! Even unenforceable threats are unacceptable.

I made my own dio, including a wooden workbench for Donnie. It wasn’t that hard (KZbin tutorials helped) and it cost a lot less than 300 bucks, fits the cabinet exactly and the sewer portholes on mine are big enough for figures to stand in. It’s a lot of fun, so even if you’re a relative beginner I’d recommend giving it a go.

Considering that each one of us would be held accountable for any foolish mistake we make..... this company is just going to have to suffer the consequences. If they only left out that one sentence in that initial email this may have gone differently. As for Hasbro's legal woes, I have little to no sympathy. They, just like neca with their situation, put themselves in that spot with their own business decisions. Nobody else to blame but themselves. Too bad neither one sees it that way.

Oh wow, I hadn't heard the same happened with Baby Beetlejuice. I considered ordering that but it sold out, kinda glad I didn’t just so I didn’t risk this headache. I'd have probably bought that Beetlejuice diorama if they hadn't upped the price by $30 out of nowhere too... Nerdzoic sent out an email to customers maybe a month or so ago explaining why it's taken him so long to fulfill NECA preorders- apparently NECA changed inventory/logisitics software & it has caused them massive problems. This seems to be the root of all the issues we've been seeing. Edit- just wanted to add that I remember Hatter talking about people receiving extra Labs like a month or more ago & how so many people are probably flipping them. For NECA to only now start reaching out & threatening people seems to point to the fact that they only recently realized their mistake & are in panic mode. I imagine most of the extras are long gone.

I just got to this part of the video and he's not saying it's okay. He's just commentating on the actions NECA took and how badly it was handled and if they wanted to pursue banning these recipients of a free diorama that they should have approached it another way. It's still 100% their fault (and I'm not defending NECA, I don't buy their priducts), but yeah Bobby was just talking about if this company wanted to take action in regards to their store and banning them, they should have done so not from the jump. Hard to really put into words but that's how I interpreted this. It's like hearing a buddy make a severely dumb decision and you and the rest of the gang just kind of see if you can rationalize the damage and see if it could have been mitigated, but ultimately not recommended any of it.

I just happened to catch this podcast today and heard this story, WOW! In unrelated news I made my last NECA purchase last night. It was just a small Nosferatu figure for $25, and guess what? I gingerly moved the left arm and it fell off. Oh well live and learn. I know if they mailed me two I'd keep the extra one and sell it to refund me some of the money from all their shit that's broken on me over the years from simply opening the box. I feel bad for the folks that didn't get theirs because I know that they have a terrible customer service department. This is America, nobody is gonna mail back anything that they can resell or even give as a gift. Hopefully NECA will pony up and make it right. It's their fault not the individuals that got two. ✌️

Hey I think what happened is Neca was going to give people 2 dioramas for $300. But then they realize people would pay $300 for one but they didn't change their shipping information to only send one. Good live stream though

What happened is NECA had a shipping center, in the middle of shipping the diorama they changed shipping centers. This caused them to lose where they were on the list. So around 300 got an extra weeks later.

If any(every)one gets charged for a product they didn't order... pretty sure there is a class action lawsuit there. Neca would have burden of proof those were purchased. They werent, so they have no claim. Woopsie. Matter of fact, what about those who DID order one and didnt receive it? Sounds like a class action is already possible? I have zero experience in law, just my observation.

That's wild to hear your experience with NECA customer service, because I had almost the same issue. I bought some NECA Alien figures, and the xenomorph was broken before I even started to unbox it. Luckily, since it was still in box, the manager at my local Toys R Us took it back, but he told us about their no NECA return policy, and this was a one time exception.

To be honest, even though I had nothing to do with the lab thing, it's left such a bad taste in my mouth... I'm kind of done with NECA. And I'm probably not alone. They make beautiful figures; but anytime I hear a crash from the back rooms of my house- I already know without looking what fell off a self or display: Out of all the different toy companies my collection contains- it's one of the NECA figures. It's always one of the NECA figures. Like you said- they break way too easy- if not right out of the box; then a simple 2 ft fall onto carpet can break something, there's always QC issues with loose joints, most of their bigger figures don't support their own weight. They remind me of early era McFarlane horror toys- pretty to look at but a pain to try to do anything with.

It i funny because I remember when NECA starred out as a sort of rival to McFarlane Toys, but I didn't buy much from them. I think my toys shifted focus to other lines but I've only ever heard about how either loose the joints were or how they'd break if you look at them funny. At least when I collected Marvel Legends, if they broke they were still cheap enough to replace and the broken fig could be used for fodder. Or certain other toys I have can take multiple falls on hard tile floors and nothing would break on it.

@Rakerong For sure! I have had other figures take major bumps before on accident and they came out looking perfect still. Maybe that's just luck- but I've had multiple NECA figures fall from 2 to 3 ft onto carpet and brake easily. Even after I'd tightened the joints... I think everybody knows how frustrating it is when you have those figures in your collection that you know you had to super-glue back together; even if it's not noticeable- I remember. Pepperidge Farm remembers...

My love of neca sits with what they've done with the Alien and Predator lines. That's what dragged me in as fan nearly 2 decades ago... I should also mention I have their tron figures out on display to this day. It's pretty lame to see the mistakes they've made lately and the drama that's cropped up around them. So much so, that I'm thinking I might be able to tolerate McF if he were to somehow aquire the A&P licenses... I'm not a huge fan of his final product for the past 30 years. But I'll roll with the punches because I'd just like to buy my shit knowing it's drama free. It's supposed to be a distraction from HorseShit. Not a focal point.

I don’t think neca has a legal leg to stand on. And by no means would I defend them. They fd up big time here and are notorious for doing people wrong, myself included. I think we can all agree they made it worse by sending out back to back shit emails and not really owning it, other than to buy people off with store credit. Their customer service has always been trash though. But let’s be real. They are a major player in the toy business regardless of what people may think about them. I’m sure these emails came from the top and they anticipated some of the backlash but their egos got the better of them. Egos tend to do that and they are not the only ones in the toy game with big egos.And what they didn’t anticipate was that years and years of us eating their shit is finally catching up with them and they are getting no quarter from the base. Their egos probably didn’t allow them to give a shit because they believed themselves to be right. But they are kind of right. Why wouldn’t people that bought 1 and got 2 not understand the mistake and return it. And if they keep it, I bet they were thinking we don’t need their business, f em. These seem like decisions based off their egos and emotions to me. But some are using that as a justification. Some are just greedy assholes that never had issues with neca before. Some did the right thing. Many of us on the sidelines are just arguing over this shit because why not, fuck neca for what they have done in the past and not owning it now. Or the other side saying customer’s that kept the one they knowingly knew was not theirs, failed to do the right thing and other collectors are paying for the unattended consequences of not returning it. Again, not defending neca but why wouldn’t those that received something that wasn’t their not be partially responsible?
