3Racing Sakura D4 AWD Build - Electronics Overview

Today on RC Overload, we discus what electronics i have decided to throw into my Sakura D4 AWD Drift Chassis.
To start off, I installed a Futaba S3004 Steering servo. This servo is one of the most basic servos you could put into a kit. It comes with plastic gears and only produces 57oz of tourqe as well as .19 seconds of turning speed. However because of how cheep this servo was and knowing that i still want to perform upgrades to this drift car later on in the future. I figured this would be a good start for now.
I also installed the Novak Drift Spec 13.5T Sensored Brushless motor into this build. I wanted to try out a different manufacture then what i was use to as well, as this will be my first sensored motor on any truck i own. This setup also has plenty of Tuning options in the ESC to calibrate anything from Braking to ESC Temperature testing.
I am also using my new Spektrum DX4S controller and a Spektrum SR210 Receiver to control this entire chassis setup. And the whole thing is going to be powered by a MaxAmps 6500MAH 2s 150c lipo.

RC Overload That's great news dude!!! If you ever get the chance bro, try some of there Brushless Rock Crawler Combos man! You can go smooth and slow, and the power is definitely there when its needed... Its something you would have to see and feel for yourself. There whole Ballistic Motor line though.... Amazingly Awesome is all I'm gonna say Lol. I just feel like more people should be using Novak, kno what I mean, all you see is people using Castle Creations, And I bet I can hook up a Novak system that would Dog Castle Lol, Also all the programming you can do with Novak's ESCs....smh!! Like I said tho, Castle Creations is Damn good! But its like Castle is all that some people know. I can't believe they still haven't came out with a sensored system yet... Idk man. Mybad bro Lol, it is a good subject though, "what's your favorite ESC/MOTOR Systems that are out". Hey dude, great videos bro. TeamNovak For Life, RC For Life.

nice build man i just finished mine and coincidently i put the novak system in mine too. can i use a 5000 mah 25c 2s or will i leave behind some power, compared to the battery you got. you mentioned you bought that battery specifically for that car. this is my first kit. so any help is appreciated.

+derek tassie that battery will do fine. the MaxAmps 150c dose provide a bit more punch verses the 25c but when it comes to drifting its not going to be that noticeable.

Hey there, I have a Castle Creations 010-0066-07 Mamba Max Pro ESC with 5700kV 4-Pole Motor bundle setup in my D4, do you have any advice for more stability or make it easier to drift? I know I kind of used a top of the line high speed setup, would you advise to slow the throttle from esc settings so drops the speeds or should I do that from my spektrum dsm controller? and what else you would advice, would be nice to get some tips. thanks in advance.

I gotta say the sakura lines are fun projects one of my first was the sakura d3 and I almost melted my car esc and motor was set too high n started burning my wires at 300 degrees dang hot

17madracki17 To my knowledge He's most likely just using the spectrum to minor tune here and there. But honestly a gyro isn't really that necessary in an awd; however, that doesn't mean you can't install one if you want. They're just more common and highly recommended for a rwd

+ViceVersa Musik non of the carbon fiber comes with the kit and hardly any pink aluminum comes with it. you will see in pictures when your looking to order the kit. and i got mine from asiatees bit.ly/21fgIKh

You're not gonna like that steering servo. I've used it before. It's just slow enough to be frustrating and weak enough to feel like it doesn't yield a full turn.
