Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade charged and captured a Russian trench in Kharkiv as Putin’s men are pushed back. Video shows the attack unfolding, as the First Assault Battalion move into a Russian trench network, thought to be in Borova. The unit, which is specialised in attack operations, works fast using rifles and grenades to clear out hiding spots within the trench. Ukrainian artillery and FPV drones work in close coordination with the unit, precisely hitting parts of the trench they have yet to clear while avoiding hitting them. But they know it is only a matter of time before the Russians start hitting back, meaning speed is of the essence. Eventually, the Russians catch up to them and start using their own FPV drones to hit the attackers. One man is struck by shrapnel, badly injuring his hand and arm. A second squad then moves in to continue the attack, bandage up the wounded man, and get everyone back alive. With reinforcements, the 1st Assault Battalion are able to successfully complete their mission. Russian units are massing troops to try and break through Ukrainian lines at Borova, to the west of Kharkiv city, the commander of the 3d Assault has said. But so far their efforts have proved in vain, and the Brigade has managed to push them back. Kharkiv is the target of a Russian assault that has been ongoing since May, but has met with limited success. More footage shows how skilled Ukrainian drone pilots blew up Russian vehicles after a failed assault on Hlyboke.The town is located to the north-west of Kharkiv city, and has been under attack for weeks. The Ukranian infantryman might not have the explosives available… but in an ideal world when clearing these kinds of fortified positions. Satchel charges would be the thing to use. Grenades are small and if the enemy has build “grenade sumps” into their fighting positions. A single kick can push the grenade into one of these holes rendering it largely ineffective at neutralizing the men inside. Or if the tunnel has bends or is very large… a single grenade ofter is inadequate. In WWII the Marines when island hoping used satchel charges on bamboo poles. You would ignite the charge and use the pole to push the explosives into the firing port or door of the structure. If the fuse is short… the enemy can’t just pick up the charge and throw it because of the pole. And the pole gives the attacker some degree of separation should the enemy start firing. These types of satchel charges would be preferable to clear trenches/holes/fighting positions. But all of this talk is dependent on the Ukranians having access to the demolitions and caps and fuse etc… it’s also heavy and bulky.

I think you can see this is a recently occupied trench. The more footage i watch i'm noticing this.....if the Russians have been there for a long period there will be a lot of garbage. This trench looks pretty clean. It is also very shallow so i do not think they knew what they were doing. Any decent officer would have his troops digging trenches twice as deep. Probably there was not any command at all and some expendable meat was sent ahead here......

Probably. I'm just confused about the location of the trench, there are two villages called "Borova" in Kharkiv and neither are even remotely close to the frontline. So I think this might've been in Hlyboke/near Hlyboke instead.
