Female Ukraine combat medic fires back as four Russian tanks attack her trench and wound comrades. Intense first-person footage revealed the brutal reality of trench-fighting in Ukraine. The video was taken by a female solider of the 47th Brigade fighting in Avdiivka. Troops can be seen fighting near a trench as bullets whistle overhead. Heavy machine gun fire tears through trees and grenades are hurled above ground. The fighting continues under the cover of the dark until dawn. Because the trench is so narrow, they’re forced to fight in a long single-file line. Russian soldiers attack with shells and heavy artillery injuring some squad members. The female soldier uses tuff-cut scissors and medication to patch-up wounded troops. An incoming tank opens fire on their trench and the squad are forced to retreat. Hoping not to be spotted by the Russians, they lay low and hide in their trench. As the tank approaches, the wounded soldier hands over an anti-tank missile, then a panic breaks out and the squad brace themselves for impact. Luckily, the Russians don’t see them and continue roaming the battlefield. A few moments later, they look overhead to make sure the coast is clear. The female soldier helps her comrade to safety, and they run through the forest. Russian bullets fall around them as they jump into an armoured vehicle. Under heavy attack, bullets ping off the vehicle as they make their escape. They arrive at a medical facility, where the man receives urgent treatment. A narrow escape for the squad, they look relieved.

In the Korean war, the North Koreans would first shoot the guy with two bars painted on his helmet, and then the guy with the red cross on his. That basically destroyed unit cohesion and put morale in the gutter since there was neither anyone to command them, nor anyone to administer morphine if they got shot. It was pretty much over at that point. Seems like things don't change much, except these it's not just young men getting shot. It's now middle aged men and young women too.

The guy, who speaks calmly is commander, former movie-director Oleg Sentzov, who was political prisoner of Putin arrested in 2014 in Crimea and exchanged for some Russian criminals in 2019. He managed to shoot couple movies in the period between he was released and the big war started.

These guys are very poorly 'trained' and russians are worse. Basic training for most of these armies is just hazing for a month or two until they're supposedly 'tough' and then they get pointed in a direction and told to go shoot whatever is moving. There's a huge difference in skill and safety when you watch western european countries like the UK, germany, their soldiers look way better under fire in combat videos. These guys are horrifying amateurs but at least they're better than russian soldiers

Only to be told, now, were only going to drop you off and now you've got to take the defences on foot - they did this for 3 months and made minimal gains. I'm not trying to belittle these brave soldiers... I just think the blanket denial about the shape Ukraine's war effort is in is just astounding. They have lost mountains of men, mountains and there's 0 acknowledgement by the west or Ukraine itself and it's frightening, because once the pinnacle of manpower is surpassed and it's coming close to that now, the war starts favouring Russia and then, it snowballs. then its game over.
