Haha I was very back and forth on deciding if I wanted to keep the engine fall in this video. Could have easily cut it out and nobody would know... BUUUT, not gonna hide my mistakes, in reality things never go as smooth as lots of TV shows and KZbinrs like to show off. I like to think it makes my content a bit more relatable.

Can't wait to see the rust repair. I have a 2nnd gen that has a 98 3.4 in it. New frame, only has 136k on the clock. Has tje same rust spots. It's the only thing left to fix. Spartan in the back. Love that truck.

Hell yeah dude! I also built a 3rd gen for my wife! Saved it from going to scrap! Tooke the wifes sc300 apart and threw the 2jz in the 4runner and mated it to the 4x4 auto trans, so she would enjoy it in this washington traffic! Love your videos there daily inpiration for my own junk lol

Those two front front seat bolts rusting out is actually a somewhat common issue, I’ve repaired two 4runners like that and it wasn’t hard at all. Good luck!

Already fixed, cut out the seat mount from my parts Corolla and welded it in. Other than that the floor in this thing is actually minty.

Was hoping to do a subscriber 4wd run with you guys this summer if anything like that was happening, but I’m moving to Abbotsford to start my heavy duty mechanical apprenticeship. Just got my truck sorted too! Bummer but hopefully I’ll find some good trails in that area.

3rd gen best gen? I'm interested how your fix the rockers? My brother's rav4 has bad rocker on one side apart from that it's solid. What's wrong with the Frame the body is sitting on? Bent? Rusted? Looking forward to the build out.

3rd gen are the best these toyotas are very popular here in New Zealand most of them have the 1kz motor 3ltre turbo diesel engine which has heaps of power way than the v6 petrol model love them and they are called toyota surf here

it would be nice if you prepped the doner frame with POR-15, and just do an engine swap with turbo 2JZ engine

F yeah! Been waiting for this! Question: I'm restoring my frame on my 3rd gen, what should i disconnect aside from the body mounts and fuel tank feed tube to get about 5 inches of clearence between the frame and the body so i can grind the top plane of the frame without removing the body completely? Thanks man!

A/c lines, some electrical, radiator, all coolant lines, trans lines if auto, slave cylinder of manual. Steering linkage. Shifter. Think that's all.
