You need more fuel brother! I have one of the 64/67 on my 04 and it's really right at home with a set of 150hp-100% overs. I have a 10mm supporting it, but I had it on my 05 before with dual pumps it was even better. Good turbo for 650 horse or so, I am bored of it now but it would probably suck hard with stock fuel lol. I can't imagine driving stock fuel trucks again haha. Throw some injectors in man and let er eat!

I’ve got the stealth 64 on my 04.5 2500 manual I don’t like it for towing at all. Lag is very noticeable. I’m not on stock fuel either 60% overs with 10mil pump.I had to keep the truck at 2200 rpm towing to stay cool. I ended up pulling the turbo and running s475 over stock and it’s much better good performance quick spool and towing egts are way down. The 64 may be good for an auto truck but on a manual I don’t recommend.

Stupid question. How far do you put or turn the new studs?
@LazyDWorx9 ай бұрын
So with head studs they’re supposed to be like a half a burn up from bottoming so I just followed the same rule here. There was nothing that came with the studs that said anything specific so I would bet bottoming them finger tight would be fine, I would not tightened the studs down past finger tight though.

The EGTS are minimally higher, so little its not even worth mentioning (50). New horn, delete the cat, straight through muffler if it doesn't have one. That will drop them a bit. You'll notice egts climb higher and faster when you don't hammer it. That is because of the lag. Once it spools it cools.
@LazyDWorx9 ай бұрын
Definitely, I called and talked to them about it and it is all normal, the EGTs even doing harder pulls stay in a safe range. The worst thing for the EGTs for me is if I lug the truck in a higher gear, with lower boost and more fuel it really climbs quick, that has been easily remedied by changing driving habits.

You didnt need to disconnect the injectors. Should have filled the turbo with oil before connecting the pressure line. Even without doing these things; its never going to be an issue; idle spin is slow.
@LazyDWorx9 ай бұрын
The instructions from Calibrated Power, Stealth 64 manufacturer, really emphasize the importance of making sure the turbo is lubed before starting, you could also put some fresh oil in on the oil supply line connection.

@brentmcmahon818810 ай бұрын
That factory air box is just fine it pulls cool air from out side of engine compartment and if they flow more they are not filtering the air very good. Now Banks makes a nice one that has scoop just under the front air dam so it gets forced feed bet most of them are just for looks they make deal that you can hook on the air intake and shows the vacum is pulled threw the after market air box’s and the ones pulling the most did not filter the air as good as the stock filter. I had 1982 that had the biggest air filter I have ever seen !
