I’ve had many versions of every diesel offering from the big 3 and the 5 has sounded the best on every single one of them. Excellent comparison video 👏

Favorite setup I’ve done on my 6.7 Ford is 4” until before the axle, then over the axle is 5”. Seems like it killed the drone I had in cab but still gave me the 5” sound I wanted. Worked good on the non vgt setup I ran and now the compound setup made it even more enjoyable in cab.

Awesome video. Also running two turbos will muffle the exhaust slightly more than running one turbo. So that could have affected the normal 5inch drone on a single turbo setup. I’m running both exhaust sizes. 4inch into a 5 inch dpf back. I like the sound. Slight drone but nothing crazy. I’ll put a 7inch tip on this weekend and see how it sounds after that.

Thanks man! And I agree I think the 2nd turbo definitely helps to kill the drone.

Truck is looking good man. Got a 5 inch on my 5.9 and a 4 inch on my 6.7 swap. The 5.9 drone is a killer lol, man that thing gets annoying at 2100 rpm. Think maybe I just need to add another turbo.
@curtisbuhs3063 ай бұрын
Yes a single turbo will have a lot of drone. Muffler is needed for a single turbo. My single turbo truck is louder than my compound turbo truck. So I will be taking the muffler off on the compound truck just like yours. Thanks for the video.

I recently went from 5" straight pipe to 4" with an aero 4040xl on my second gen swapped 6.7. So much nicer now, the drone on the 5" sucks.

How is the 188/220 cam, I have a 03 6speed S467 12mm cp3 and 100 over injectors and max effort fire punk tune with supporting top end mods like springs and push rods, will the 188/220 cam make a difference on my build? It has power but I have to really rev it out in the rpms
@LMDiesel20 күн бұрын
I’m thinking about doing a full video about this, but basically the way I describe it is, it kinda gives your truck a power band like a 2 stroke dirtbike. Once you hit 2500 rpm the thing wants to go!

Man i need help got a code for p0148 bbi 1.5 injectors 20k miles on them cp3 has like 5k and airdog has just today on it but I can't get the code to go away truck idles high on frp and in gear if I let out it drain the frp to 1.0 on my edge monitor
@LMDiesel3 ай бұрын
You might check your fuel to the cp3. Could be a dirty fuel filter. If you don’t have one. It might be time for a FASS. I also would check all your fuel related sensors: FCA, rail pressure sensor, and even the fuel pressure relief valve.

🤦🏻♂DUDE🤷🏻♂🤷🏻♂🤷🏻♂🤦🏻♂WTF is with all the smoke ? maybe to big of sticks ? dial it WAY BACK DOWN or better tuning ... %100 gotta fix it. giving us all a bad name .. other then that GREAT CONTANT keep it up. 👍👍 5inch with resonator sounds the best.

Still waiting on updated tunes. I’m from TX and just moved to CO so it smokes a little more due to altitude. But also it’s hard to have a truck that makes close to 1000hp without it smoking a lot if you stab the throttle.
@chrisbeatty7433 ай бұрын
Ngl, your tires on those wheels look like when a body builder wears a shirt 3 sizes too small to seem bigger. Truck sounds great though

These dirty tuned trucks are killing it for all the performance trucks, my twin turbo duramax runs clean and makes 900 wheel. Rolling Coal was cool about 10 years ago before shops lost there businesses for crap like this. You can make big power and run clean!!
@LMDiesel2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment, but let me clarify a few things, 1, late 5.9 Cummins engines are know for being more smoky. It’s due to the piston design. 2, the truck was tuned for TX and I just moved to CO so the altitude makes a pretty big difference on smoke output. I just got fresh tunes in and it’s running a lot cleaner. 3, I don’t care what your setup is, if you have larger injectors and bigger turbos and you stab the throttle before the engine builds boost, you’re going to dump coal. That’s what I did in this video, I wasn’t trying to drive it cleanly I was being more aggressive so that the viewer could get a better idea of the sound.
