Interesting facts for using monster resources (since you are talking about using monster's materials is very essential for the ecosystem): In Wilds, if you leave the monster body alone for a while, it will turn that body into rotten carcasses, which upon carving will grant you bones instead of specific monster materials. It is unique since Wilds is going for realistic real-life ideas.

Plus you are so far from the rest of the Guild in that game they can't go and retrieve the monster's body like they normally do (implied in Sunbreak where a cutscene has the body of a Daimyo Hermitaur being collected in a cart after the hunter does their carves).

I gotta say you were right about back then they over hunted back then- but another big factor was they were making a equal dragon weapon like dragonn and had too kill like thirty horses worth of dragons just to make it come alive. That's also how the great dragon war started and the reason fatalis attacked schrade that night, cause not only the dragons were being over hunted but cause so many life's were taken to make one life.

Honestly, I would like to see a second subspecies of monster. Not the rare species thing, they are a subspecies but rare as all hell. I mean an actual SECOND subspecies. Like a rathalos, it has azure, but what about, I dunno, amber rathalos? One that's not as aerial, but much more fire breath with an orangy color.

My theory is that the English names are meant to follow the same pronunciation as the Japanese ones (which after all, are the OGs). In this case, Lagiacrus and Tigrex's Japanese names are Ragiakurusu (rah-gee-ah-koo-roo-soo) and Tigarekkusu (tee-gah-rehk-soo) respectively.

Its not lagiacrus, its LAGIAAACRUS Also, it is indeed pronounced Tygrex, the reasoning behind it is the pattern on the scales is basically like tiger stripes so its pronounced the same as tiger And the thing about fatalis that makes him so dangerous is that it cant really die and regenerates over the years, even its armor make people who wear it go mad.
