Good to see you! I've missed you! ❤❤ I love your choices, thanks for sharing! Math with Confidence seems like a great curriculum. I almost chose them, but went with Apologia math instead. We're using Science Shepherd for science. Something new I came across that is a lot more independent for my kiddo. So far it's working out! I hope you guys have a blessed school year!

@@beachgurl788 So the reason I chose it is because it is hands-on but still simple. I chose it for my 6th and 3rd grader. I'm enjoying it ok for my 6th grader, (partly because there are no other 6th grade math curriculum that would be a good fit). But I've actually switched my 3rd grader over to Math With Confidence.

@@beachgurl788 I didn't like how Apologia math just stuck with one thing then moved on to the next. MWC is still hands-on and simple (even though we do cut out some of the problems that have like 9 or 12 of the same thing), I don't like to drill and kill! But I like that MWC is constantly, but gently, reviewing important basics like money, clocks, measurement and different things. I'm really liking it for my 3rd grader! I would switch my 6th grader over too if they had it available. Hope you find the best fit for your family!

@@TheEclecticHomeschooler It's a good curriculum but It's looking like we're actually going to end up switching over to Berean Builders Science for several different reasons 😊

Always a pleasure to watch your videos. My 3rd grader will be doing MFW at co-op so excited for him its looks so fun and she loves exploring different countries. I would add a cookbook for experiencing recipes/different foods. I love the MB atlas too. We continued with BJU math and spelling this year.

Oh that would be so fun to do with a group! Yes, we will definitely be trying some recipes from different cultures! We already do quite a bit of that so I didn’t purchase the cookbook they recommend, but we will try some new ones for sure!

Great video! Love seeing what other homeschoolers are using. I have never heard of the math or language arts program you use. The math program looks great. My older two use math u see but my youngest doesn't really get along well with the monotony of it, I will have to keep that one in mind for the future!

We haven’t tried them before either so I’m hoping they will be a good fit! 🤞🏼I know a lot of people love Math U See, but it’s not for everyone. Hope you find what works better for your youngest!

You’re alive! Yay! ❤ We love Window on the World! I have looked at the yellow book, but I decided to try My Father’s World language Lessons. And I also got a BJU English 2 to test out. I’d love your review on the yellow book after this year! I tried Kindergarten and First grade math with confidence. I think I could do it if I didn’t have two toddlers underfoot. But the constant moving physical parts left me frustrated after awhile. I’m trying Math Mammoth so I can do it at one time with my kids and explain and answer questions as needed. I’ll be interested what you think for the third grade level!

@@carlidoepke5131 Haha! Yes! It’s been a while! 😅 Yeah, the math does seem to have quite a bit of items for hands on activities. We probably won’t do all of it… I could see how that would be a challenge with little ones around too! She’s my youngest now, so I’m hoping to have a little more one on one time with her. 🥰 Blessings to you!!

I liked your choices for your curriculum! I haven't used my father's world but heard good things! I've used math with confidence and learning language arts through literature and we both liked learning language arts but we'll not continue with math with confidence unfortunately. We did yellow book for learning language arts. We did some orally and skipped the cursive writing though.

Just started LLATL Red book with my 7 and 8 yr old boys. Really like it so far. Love that it includes everything. We still use an additional reading curriculum from Generations because it walks them through major accounts through the whole Bible and has faith lessons to discuss. And we do individual reading of their choice and narrate.

I used "Math with Confidence" for Kindergarten of my now 9 year old. It was solid (though a bit much for my needs and teaching style). She is currently using Easy Peasy's math Level 3 and probably later in the year "Math Facts that stick" books (also by Kate Snow). I thought I would love MWC because I loved Kate Snow's "Math Facts that stick" books...but sadly not the case for us. BUT, I hope you guys LOVE it 🎉

We love LLATL! It’s our second year with it (5th and 7th, green and purple books). Was thinking about the yellow book for my ‘2nd grader’ but she is still working on reading. I’m afraid the yellow book may be too much for her right now. Thinking of just focusing on phonics until maybe Dec and then try it.

@@TheEclecticHomeschooler let’s see for 3rd grade: Charlottes web, Mrs. Frisby and Raytheon of NIMH, the boxcar children, Matilda, Because of Winn Dixie, Magic Tree house books (gets harder as the series goes on), the cricket in Times Square, Shiloh, and I like to read fun biographies for people we are studying. There’s so many, I’m glad I have multiple kids to go through. I’m not a fan of reading aloud hours at a time but a couple chapters a day is great for quality time while they color or do another task. Audio books are great but not as productive for family time.

How long does it usually take to get through a lesson in that language curriculum? My son has adhd and I’m looking for curriculum that is simple and doesn’t take long to do. We use explode the code and TGTB right now.

Not particularly. I thought it was a solid program. My daughter didn’t super love it so I just wanted to try something different. She will switch to Saxon for 5th or 6th grade for sure, but we may end up going back to TGTB for math next year if this one doesn’t fit. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We have used TGATB through 2nd grade. We tried switching over to Singapore Primary but it was not a good fit. I am looking into Singapore Dimensions for 3rd grade or Beast Academy. We have loved learning from TGATB, no tears for math ever from my son. It does seem a little less challenging for him as I see math as his strong suit. Also near the end of 2nd grade I felt it flipped through too many topics too fast. We were doing money, time, weight, measurements all back to back days. I guess you could take time on a topic and supplement/expand. We are ready to do a bit more mastery. For elementary years the spiral was nice to change up. Sorry for my lengthy post. Hope it helps anyone.

@@JessicaSadler-k9o I loved AGF!! We were really only using the history and science plans for it and my older boys were just not that into many of the reading selections. Being a true Charlotte Mason curriculum, it uses a lot of old books, which can be great, but my kids really wanted to use some more modern books. I’m not totally ruling it out for future with my youngest though! I needed to use something this year that they could do together so we went with MFW. 🥰
