Something to add to Ryu's normals: Theyre not ALL slower than Ken's, Close fierce from Gouki and Ryu are faster than Ken's (4f vs 6f) as well as far Strong (5f vs 6f) but on the whole Ken is better (if we're talking straight options)

Ryu's taunt increases his stun revovery speed. First time you taunt you get 10% stun recovery speed and 21% for the second taunt. It lasts for whole round and you can do a maximum of 2 taunts for a 33% bonus.

I guess you're right about Denjin being more advanced and not really relevant to this video, but it would still be nice to get the basics of it and how it works. The same with SA2. The only things I miss in these primers are more info on Super Arts, even the bad ones. Nevertheless, great videos, much appreciated.

But you dont really wanna do it point blank against certain chars, they can parry first hit and then shoryu or super and ryu will get hit

qcf then down before the last light per example for short short super u do cr.short qcf and down before the 2nd short and afterwards u only need the rest of the qcf for the super, other tricks like cr.mk, dp, super is to do the dp motion when u do the mk and afterwards u only need the lp/mp/hp to get the dp out

a couple of notes: fierce donkey kick only combos on crouchers. ryus best weapon is cr.fierce xx ex joudan xx HP srk/ HP tatsu = advanced ^^ if you dont do this, its like missing out how to do geneijin with yun. absolute best weapon to learn.

I have the hardest time getting short short or short jab short into shinku hadouken. Sometimes I get dp on accident, but other times I can't seem to cancel on the last light hit. Any execution tips?

This seems like a great tutorial, but I think I need an even more basic tutorial. I always fall into the habit of button mashing. Can someone recommend a good place to start?

Do you have someone you can play with? I find limiting yourself to just one button and really learning that first will force you to learn the spacing. I taught my girlfriend how to play by playing a game called "sweeps and throws" literally all I taught her was how to sweep (crouching heavy kick) and how to throw (both light kick and punch at the same time). Of course also taught her how to block (hold back). Play with these limitations for a while, a week or so of regular playing. Then add UOH (both middle punch and kick buttons, means universal overhead). Bam, learning these tools will teach you the basics of third strike, everything else is just tech and flashy stuff

@@lit_wick dude thank you so much for taking the time to reply and help me out. I'm going to try your tips for sure. Hopefully I can get a nice rythm. I hear about canceling and i THINK I understand what that means because sometimes I do it by accident. When I'm about to do sons kind of special and then a split second later the move changes to something else. I have no idea how I do it.... is it really actually putting the commands for 2 different special moves THAT quickly?? That's nuts. I do tend to sweep a lot but it feels sort of cheap. Also I'm having a hard time figuring out how to initiate decent combos...

Canceling is when you skip a moves cool down (recovery frames) with a special attack. Crouching middle kick into hadoken is a basic one with Ryu. Most attacks are special move cancelable. And yeah, that's the thing about being "cheap", no such thing. Someone complains, tell them to get better. The goal is to win. Look up the scrublords prayer. Pretty much, any complaint besides smthn like "I wasn't even holding my controller" should be considered a silly excuse

I haven't finished watching this video, but did he really leave out the Solar Plexus Strike? He does, but it isn't very effective in this game. I think the only thing you can do after that is the EX Shoryu.

Basically, it is trying to hit your opponent on the end frames of your active frames of an attack after a knockdown. This is so you can increase your frame advantage for better pressure or combos.

Of frames before your attack will actually can hit the opponent Active frames are the frames where you can hit the opponent Recovery frames is the frames recovering back after the attack before you can do any other action When your attack hits an enemy, he will go into block/hitstun where he can't do anything during that period. Depending on your attack, you may get + or - frame advantage. If let's say, you have +5 advantage after you hit your opponent with your attack. You will recover 5 frames EARLIER than your opponent. This means the if you attack again with a move with
