Can I just say that your breakdowns and analysis of each character regardless if it was Tekken, Street Fighter, or Mortal Kombat are all brilliant? It's almost as if you know the historical significance of each character and it's awesome. Most other breakdown channels would probably miss key points for a character and other stuff, but you pretty much hit everyone of the key points for characters and as I said it's absolutely brilliant. Can't wait to see a remastered breakdown of Akuma.

I like the idea of Ryu being the son of Akuma. That perhaps Akuma saw a family as his last link to his humanity he had to sever in order to proceed in his journey. Maybe seeing his mother killed unlocked his own Satsui no Hado, perhaps even so strong at that young of age it stopped akuma or akuma stopped intentionally seeing the great potential in Ryu. This traumatic event also explains why Ryu doesn’t remember his early days. Sometime after he is found by Gouken who knowing his real identity or not sees the Satsui no Hado inside of him so decides to train him in order to give him the discipline to control it. This theory also explains why Akuma keeps running into Ryu, fights him yet never kills him. He knows Ryu has the potential to be even more powerful as Akuma in the Satsui no Hado BUT also maybe there is a part of akuma that doesn’t want to kill his son. This too makes sense to Akuma’s character. If he was just a monster filled with the murderous intent then why does he keep looking for worthy opponents while sparing those he feels are weak or sick? It’s because he has a moral code, perhaps something left of his humanity. It also brings new complexity to the relationship between Gouken and Ryu. One where Gouken sees Ryu as a student and a surrogate son but also deep down has worries about the potential time bomb he is. That’s why he create the power of nothingness, to stop that proverbial bomb from going off.

It would be cool for Ryu to find his father one day and maybe he didn't know he had a son and maybe something happened to his mother and she never told him he had a son. That would be a cool story to explore maybe he would find out he was a martial artist too and he would teach him his art before he passes away. That would be a pretty cool story. But we will probably find out that Akuma was his father all along.

There once was a warrior named Sho, a son of a student who trained with Gouken under Goutetsu. Sho's father trained him and one day the Dark Hadou engulfed Sho and he killed his father in a blinded rage. He came to seek out Gouken for answers but Akuma had already seemingly killed Gouken. Sometime after, Sho learned of Akuma who embraced the Dark Hadou, went and challenged Akuma and was easily defeated. He wants to destroy Akuma and anyone who embraced the Dark Hadou. He now trains harder to defeat Akuma. Will he be victorius or succumb to the Darkness within?
