Been learning Yang, and this is the best guide I've found! Most of the others just show combos, but this explains a lot of the strategy and situations much better

Month late, but for anyone wondering. The clMK, 2-hit rekka, 2-hit rekka corner combo works for me when I end the set of rekkas with LP Rekka like this: clMK, HP Rekka, pause LP Rekka, HP Rekka, LP Rekka. Try to time the 2nd set of Rekkas so that the first hit comes out as they fall to Yang's shoulders. if you end with HP Rekka, it'll wiff.

Is there a logic to using jab/strong/fierce rekkas or is that more of an advanced thing people who main rekka characteres would have an expertise on?

There is. Primarily, they differ in damage, block stun, and recovery. Based on the matchup, you will most likely have to end the slashes (midscreen) with LP slash in order to maximize wake up pressure after teleport (LK or MK Teleport is the normal follow up after slashes because it keeps Yang in front of the opponent for consistent pressure). So in order to showcase this, here's one example of Yang slashes and follow up with MK teleport vs Ken as he quick rises: Yang- cr.mk, LP slash, HP slash, LP slash (This takes a total of 108 frames including Yang's recovery to when Ken is knocked down) Ken- knocked down, quick rises (When Ken quick rises, it takes him 37 frames from when Yang is recovered) Yang- MK teleport right after LP slash (34 frames) When you recognize the difference in frames from quick rise vs teleport, you can see there is a 3 frame difference. That means Yang is +3 on Ken's quick rise wake up and can pressure accordingly. Now instead of ending with LP slash, let's say you end with HP slash Yang- cr.mk, LP slash, HP slash, HP slash (Total = 114 frames) Ken- knocked down, quick rises (Total = 29 frames from when Yang is recovered) Yang- MK teleport right after HP slash (Total = 34 frames) This means Yang is -5 after MK teleport in which case, Ken can reversal shoryu or super on wakeup. Hope this helps understanding the logic behind the slashes.

how to chain his first super
@nonzerovolta25413 жыл бұрын
I know this is late. But you can chain it from crouching Med. Kick (Which in my experience is the most practical and easiest way), Close standing Med. Punch, Close standing Heavy. Punch (You have to do the super input before the second hit connects, not easy), sometimes with jumping Heavy. or Med. Kick (You have to hit pretty deep in on the opponent for it to actually combo), and, if you space them right, Heavy. or Med. Dive kicks. Honestly you should still use SA2, since it can combo from a lot of the same things SA1 can, and more, like his Med>Heavy>Back Heavy target combo, and his Palm. (Both of which cause SA1 to whiff most of its hits) On top of it giving you more meter for EX Rekkas. I hoped that helped.
