My Third Strike story was pretty similar. But I was in High School, my friend got a copy of 3S for Dreamcast and he let me borrow it off of him for a couple of weeks. I ended up falling in love with the game and just practiced hardcore. But there was never much of a scene for 3S in England so I couldn't really get better through putting things into practice. So glad they re-released 3S with online capability. Gives me, Oro and Q a chance to stretch our legs.

Wow, all that you are talking about is exactly what happened to me and my friends (except for the tournaments and stuff), the jaustin-daigo video, and those rare japanese 3s videos you had to download without being sure of what you would find in them. Also, personally the 1st "WOW OMG" video I saw was a 5on5 where a 5 pixels life Makoto 1 Combo killed a full health Gouki with SA2 stun juggle and shit we are all familiar with now. Nice episode!! DEM MEMORIES :'D

That 3s night before evo 04 was my first time going to FFA too, although I went there for DDR D: Although Daigo said I was good at DDR as he was standing around getting a soda! :D Next day he made the moment, made 3s legendary, and I dropped DDR for 3s.

Evo moment 37 might've been the greatest moment at the time maybe, but since then Japanese players have pulled off much more impractical parries.(full Chun-Li SA2 with a fireball in between, an entire high/low blockstring mixup from Akuma, etc.)
