One of the best comparisons I've ever seen on youtube. Such a great job! I really appreciate you highlighting the servicing/maintenance differences. In fact, how much easier it is to service is what made me decide to get the new Gen2 vs a used 2022.

Thank you. Most of the other channels all they want to talk about are clutch modifications or tire swapping or talk about a different model all together but hardly mention what I need. I have a 2022 ZForce 800 Trail and I love it. Never knew about the far left cubby hole inside. Great video.

50 in rule applies to the wheel base width. Fender that makes it a bit wider doesn't have to be removed to meet the restrictions.

It seemed to me that the newer machine is quite a bit quieter in the cab? That's the biggest thing I hate about most UTVs. They are deafening to drive around. This is a great video by the way. I learned a LOT about both the 2022 and 2023 models.
@3SeasRecreation Жыл бұрын
Pumped that you enjoyed our video! YES I would absolutely agree that they are quieter than they were before. I think they get louder as you start to install a cab and enclose them in. Enjoy the ride, Jared

Exactly, theyre all way to noisy, you have to yell to your passenger
@bruceh3786 Жыл бұрын
You both did a great job on the comparison. I ended up passing on the 2023 and bought a 2022 ZForce 800EX a couple of weeks ago. The 2023 has a lot of nice improvements but for reasons I do not understand, CFMoto decided not to offer the 800EX for 2023. You will now have to get a 950EX if you want the 60 inch wide wheel track. I definitely wanted a 60 inch EX over a Trail but I have no desire or need for the 950 engine. With the price increase and the added cost of the larger engine, it would have cost around 2 grand or more for something I really didn't want. One of the selling points of a CFMoto is there is about a $2,000+ savings over the competition. The 2023 950EX puts me much closer to the price of a CanAm or Polaris. If I only had the 2023 950EX available for $2,000+ more, I would have given a lot more consideration to purchasing one of the other brands. I think CFMoto weakened their competitive advantage by not offering a 800EX for 2023. I like most of the 2023 changes but have no regrets getting the 2022 Z 800EX. What impact does the lack of a parking brake have on trailering? CFMoto says not to trailer in park. You can put the 2023 in neutral but there is no brake to set.
@3SeasRecreation Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Some really good points were made. I would have to suggest what the manual says and to tow the machine in neutral. Buy a few sets of good straps and make sure it is strapped down good! Enjoy the ride, Jared

It looks like I'm going to have to scrimp and save to afford the Gen 2. It is night and day better than the old version. So many better executed storage and access to electrical/mechanical components. I'm really short so the seat adjustability is way awesome and a real selling point for me. I love the looks much better and I'm loving the door setup much more in the new model. I hate the cold, so I would eventually invest in a soft enclosure and installing a little heater setup if it isn't too expensive. I am loving everything about the new Gen 2. Here in Canada, they retail for $17K CAD but the 5 yr warranty is free.

Great review. I too have a queston about the new model not having a parking brake though. I know on my uforce we are warned to never trailer the machine in Park but to use Neutral and set the parking brake because the pin in the tranny is not very strong and movement while in Park can shear the pin and cause big dollar repair bills. Also not supposed to rely on Park on a steep hill, but again use a gear and rely on the parking brake. So do you know if they've changed something with the Park setting so one can rely on it to hold on a hill or while trailering?? I have a buddy who is very close to pulling the trigger on the new 800 Trial. Thanks much.

Why was the 2023 model made without an emergency break? What is that all about? What's with the shifting issues? If the unit had an emergency break I'd be able to just leave it in neutral position. Shifting from park is a hell of an issue.
@markgraham8854 Жыл бұрын
Did you say the 2023 doesn't have a parking brake or 2022? Also, on the rear differential, is it limited slip? Will it tear up the turf on sharp corners in two wheel drive? Enjoyed the video actually watched it a couple times. 👍👍👍
@3SeasRecreation Жыл бұрын
Good Morning! Thanks for checking out our videos, much appreciated! Correct on the parking brake, the 2023 does NOT have the parking brake. The rear end is a solid rear end all the time, only Polaris has a mode called "Turf mode" on some of their models that allow the customer to unlock that rear end for driving around on the ground. That is probably the only feature I miss about selling Polaris (we sold Polaris for 25 years). Enjoy the ride, Jared

Very good review. I've had the 2022 almost one year now. The 2023 is definitely an improvement. I would love to have the full doors, the leg room and the storage bins of the 23. Otherwise, I'm good with the 22. 2 quick questions. Is the 2022 taller than the 2023. And is the gear shift Park on top of the 23 and at the bottom of the 22? It looks like they did reverse it. Which would also be an improvement (IMO).
@3SeasRecreation Жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out our channel and the positive feedback! 1.) I believe the height is almost identical. 2.) Yep they reversed the order of operations for the gear shifter. Not sure why but it shifts good. Enjoy the ride, Jared

Why no parking brake?
@3SeasRecreation Жыл бұрын
I don't have an answer as to why they removed it. I would bet $.01 that it was because a small amount of people never released it and drove them until the brakes boiled out of them. We had a few customers do that here at the shop. Enjoy the ride, Jared
