This "Tire first" approach to bike design made me smile, race cars are often the same way. "What is the best tire I can use in this race? now build the car around it"

My dream bike just got better! Thoroughly enjoying my current Exploro PRO GRX. Big fan of your work Gerard & 3T team.

That's a massive stem & nice touch left dirty, thankyou for all your innovation and thinking outside that box - still want a Cervelo Soloist it's just out of my reach, still good to have dreams.

Beautiful and technology-packed bike! Well done. The only thing which could have made it better is internal routing for the handleabrs and stem. Could you please advise what is the ID f the top headset bearing? Just trying to figure out whether Deda Vinci would fit it... Thanks!

Nice bikes! What was the name for the thru axle you mention here and is there a source for more information on thru axle stifnes? Also looking at bikes on the site I cannot find clear mention of the BB types used..

I am riding a normal road bike and I would love to own an aero bike and a gravel bike. I guess this bike would be the answer. Very nice. I wonder how fast it will be with 28mm tires. I also would have loved to see a storage option in the massive down tube like known from Specialized.

What a lovely bike ‼️ What is the size of the bike you had on presentation from 9:20 onwards? Also what is the maximum tire size on a 2x in 700c? Can i refer to your WAM and RAM? Will the seatpost clamp take oval carbon rails? Will Red/White be available as frameset? Thanks very much. What a lovely bike again.

I just ordered a 2X Race Max and am quite excited. What is the optimal tire size if I’m riding predominantly road? Thanks.

I'd be keen to get an answer on this too.... I ride predominantly road but with intentions of heading abroad (eventually!) to discover new trails etc...I don't have space for multiple rides, so 2 sets of wheels will surely be the ultimate way to go? My finger is firmly on the trigger to buy one. I absolutely adore it and the paint job is sick!! @gerard vroomen

So what is the ideal clearance for tire to seat tube according to your standards?

Does a 2x Drivetrain interfere with the tire clearance?

is the seatpost carbon too? couldn't find the info on the website

I was tempted to buy one, but the new model disappointed me and above all it seems to me that there is not enough room between the frame and the rear wheel (I would not like to try it in REAL mud situations)

I was tempted to buy one EXPLORO but for my taste they ruined it. I will be curious to see the mud discharge of the rear wheel 😑 (in REAL MUD situations). 100% agree with @WasteIndustrial

It looks like an extended Strada. I hope it is the best from Strada and Exploro. I like it. My question about the new frame is about the comfort, if you use it on gravel roads.

With a massive down tube like that you kinda wish you could store things in it. Don’t know why that isn’t a feature. Something along the lines of the specialized swat

Gerard vroomen thank you for taking the time out of your day to reply. Would that really weaken the integrity of it though?

A rather brilliant bike. I'm tempted. I'm very glad 3T avoided gimmicky, leaking, snapping downtube hatches and impossible to service, fragile integrated front ends. My only concerns is the tyre clearance at the rear. 700x40mm tyres are fine on the front, but 60kph+ downhill hard gravel needs a bigger radius rear tyre, which is not in the wind after all. A solution is a 47mm+ 650b rear with a taller profile to match 700cc radius. On the road, I suspect this is more aero than many aero road bikes (not UCI stifled!).

Will the Fork be offered as a standalone?
@Digi204 жыл бұрын
@Gerard vroomen Hi Gerard, thanks for replying :) There are some road bike frames with enough clearance in the rear to accept a ~38-40mm wide 650b tire. but of course that was never intended to be done and so the standard forks are too narrow for those tires. there are only very few wider "gravel" forks with 367mm length on the market that would accept the wider tires and not alter the bikes geometry. it sure is a niche but i consider rebuilding my road bike into a more comfy endurance tourer. so that racemax fork would be perfect and one of the very few options.

Recieved my frame. Not extremely impressed. Barely enough clearance for 700c x 42mm at the rear. The seat post hardware didn’t work with either of my saddles(oval and standard). Had to use the hardware set from another seat post I had. Tried to return it but they charge the customer for return shipping. Their service is the definition of trash. I have a 54 in sand olive available for sale if anyone is interested.

Wow. So instead of returning it and eating the cost, say $100, because you misunderstood the indication for this bike, you'd rather sell it for 1/2 its cost as a loss. Genius.. Your complaint sounds like sour apples and buyer's remorse more than anything

Please don't use proprietary bearings! Unnecessary, expensive, and PIA. Otherwise, nice bike! I already have a Strada and an Exploro - the RaceMax looks like the child of the two.
