I discovered Low Beam like a year ago, not quite sure how - I think it came up through song radio on Spotify. I quite liked it, added it to my monthly playlists, and every time I revisited my music from that month I’d always dig it. Something about the song always stuck with me, and I found myself getting the melody or the riff stuck in my head every now and then. Around a year later I rediscovered the track in a big way, and then a few weeks ago in an even bigger way. Over the last couple days I’ve had the track virtually on repeat, and in a sense it became the soundtrack to my life. After a night out with friends I went to again, listen to Low Beam, but this time I decided to check out a live performance to see the comments and get a feel for if anyone else dug the song as much as I did. Reading through the comments was certainly not what I expected, and discovering the tragedy that took place is truly one of the most disheartening things I’ve ever read. While it’s tragic to think that I’ll never get the chance to hear new music or see these guys live, it’s ultimately a fate many bands go through when they break up or dissolve over time. Initially, this is what I thought had happened with Her’s, however the RIP comments sadly proved to be much more literal, referencing a tragedy beyond anything in the musical world. Rest In Peace Stephen and Audin, you’ve touched so many people with your art, and nobody can ever take away that impact. Her’s forever.

I am a truck Driver from Arizona, I was traveling interstate 10 when your friends and loved ones passed me and a few seconds later the collision with a truck with no headlights, myself and another driver emptied our fire extinguishers but to no avail, what I saw I will never forget, wished we could have done more, as i sat at the scene I prayed for those souls I didn’t know, and hoping it was over for them as fast has it happened, I thought of their families and their grief that would be upon them, we were their to watch over them until they were free from there last earthly hold, as I sat for those 3 1/2 hours waiting for the road to open, a wave of softness came upon me and I felt a youthful presents that made me smile and cry, on the 16th of March our niece who was 18 was killed by a drunk driver who ran a red light, I cried again for Maddy, and felt her presents now even stronger. Friday morning I learned their names and a little of who they were, when I saw their ages it took me back to that night and the strong presents I felt and I knew it was those young men and Maddy was their to help them on their way as I prayed for their souls that soured up above. Their gift of music left here with us all, has helped soothe the pain which I know will always remain, I grieve for our lose of Maddy at such a young age makes it so much harder. Thankful I am to be able to put faces and names to the souls I met that night, as it helps wash away the sights from that night. I put on their videos and close my eyes and feel their heart and soul that comes out through their voices with musical harmony that could only come from family and angels on high. I understand Trevor was a musician as well, I would love to hear his voice and works as well. I know your pain and how things will never be same, I hope my words help a little, I just wanted you all to know that they where not all alone. My very deepest condolences to their families and friends, I just wish we could have done more.
@trutharizona62225 жыл бұрын
To answer the touch question, since I was right there and saw what I saw, and as bad as anyone would think of that situation, despite the sight of things, feelings on scene and after, and going past it everyday, I never once have had those feeling that they suffered, and so once Friday morning came around and I had names and faces to the souls I met that night, I cried for them, not for what was the end , but the what could have been for both the boys and Maddy. Rest your heart, I truly know in my heart because of the solemn peace that filled the air, and with Maddy”s presents there, and some times I think she was the reason I was there, the young men that I never knew, who’s souls touched me that night I will never forget

To me their songs have become anthems to their genius and of leaving life at the height of acceleration. That point in life when things are picking up speed so fast that last month bears no resemblance to the current one and the next one feels just the same. I feel an immense gratitude for life when I listen to their music and not only do I reflect on their short lives but I also reflect on the part of my life that is dead to the past.
