From what I hear, metronomes are calibrated to this drummer's rhythm.
@SeeingColor5 жыл бұрын
AwesomeShot Studios Upon moving to comment about a drummer’s metronomicity (YT iOS-app hides cmnts), my impulse to publish a bland thought was replaced w/ an awakening to my unoriginality. An instant loss of religion then led to a heavy Fentanyl habit. Yeah, but after I kicked, I turned paid session recordings of their drummer into a successful series of sample packs and web audio modules. They have paid for the two SLs in my multi-level Malibu garage & the “friends” that ride in them, but I would trade it all for the power to have commented first all those minutes ago.

Legend has it that the drummer's star ship lost its course in the nether reaches of outer space. The drummer's mental metronome within his head kept beat with the stars at the center of galaxies until he found that he could communicate with them. Over the span of 6 millennia he taught them the essence of rhythm and synced their pulsing to his will. He left tiny pieces of his mind scattered throughout the universe which eventually became the pulsars we know of today.

@@aironovathuul My tale is true. I was there. I am the Star Child, born unto this universe as a culmination of all of the drummer's seeds of musicality; a flesh-born amalgamation of cosmic notes and chord progressions. I've stood dormant among the stars, germinating for eons, until I was ready--until He said that I was ready, and smiled down upon my cosmic form. With a warm glow of His synapse my form soared through the empty pathways of space--faster, faster, faster until I crash landed upon a small, barren rock floating around a yellow star. I stood. I began to walk, becoming accustomed to my new body. I was hot. I was glowing with life energy. Every step I took left behind a footprint of substance--life. The first step, a water droplet; the second step, bacteria; The third step, a nematode; The fourth step, a seed of vegetation; the fifth step, a bipedal mammal; the sixth step, humanity; the seventh step, the passage of time; the eighth step, music. After the eighth step I rested. I looked down upon what I had done and felt the coolness of His fulfillment wash over me. The remains of my body melted onto the firmament and became the seas. I gave the whales their songs, the birds their whistles, the wind its moaning, and humanity its voice. I am He. And He taps the beat of eternity upon his cosmic drum.

I know some of you will think I'm saying this because she's drop dead gorgeous, but Laura Lee is one of the best bassists I've ever heard. First off, the volume level is perfect. Too many bassists, especially in a three piece band are TOO LOUD, she's not. But her playing is absolutely in the pocket, and she's not afraid of "space".....meaning she leaves bits of silence and "air" at certain times. I'd really like to know her musical background before she picked up the bass. All three of them are incredible as musicians. I do wish they could evolve into having a few more "vocal" songs. Otherwise, I'm just awestruck with the whole band.

This is a perfect example why we need live music up and playing live again. How long will our restless souls have to wait to enjoy a good live show again especially with an act like this!

In my opinion, these guys are no question the best band making music right now. If you haven't seen them live yet you need to make it happen as soon as you can. They absolutely destroy every single time, and they never play the same song the same way twice

Thats a good and bad thing😂. Good for the artist to keep ideas coming and improve. But im the type i want to hear how it was on the album or how i heard it originally. Lol.

Crazy how they manage to sound like way more than three people. Watching Mark play is especially interesting: he's doing the work of two guitarists, returning to a rhythm part in each empty space, no matter how short, between his lead lines.

I stumbled across this because Rhett Shull (@RhettShull) made a video on this band. It's a deep rabbit hole, but I'm not complaining. Amazed at the seeming simplicity of the music and the relative depth and breadth that is accomplished by a mere three members. DJ is one of the most on-time drummers I have watched and listened to, and with a very simple kit. Thank you all for this one 🙏

Been listening daily for weeks now. Help! Wife caught the bug too and now demands it whenever possible... We might as well just play it in the delivery room while she goes to town(she's due in two weeks)! Fun facts that I found fascinating and a huge apologies if you knew already... 1. Mark Speer was a bassist but got more work playing the guitar, and that paid the bills. 2. Laura Lee learned how to play the bass just before joining the band. She had the same set of D’addario flat-wound strings on since 2010 just before she join the band. Those are the ones I liked...

Roy Chang fact 1 is surprising since 99 out of 100 stringed instrumentalists are guitar players. I've only met one bassist ive vibed with in 15 years of playing and I dont live in the sticks either. I suppose when you play like speer you get lots of offers though.
