I think it's hilarious that Neal was walking around with really just a coconut to defend himself and Charming never gave him a weapon but when his good old mate Hook needs a weapon he automatically helps Even Charming is starting to like Hook now all we needs is Emma to stop fighting her feelings

If the only 'romantic' moment of this episode has been between Hook and Emma... I think it's clear which one is the preferred pair of the writers.. ;) They had a great opportunity to include a touching moment (e.g. Neal telling Emma some encouraging words at the entrance of the 'skull cave' before going after their son).. but they didn't do anything even close to it.. So, every day I'm more convinced.. Captain Swan for the win!!

Rumple is so crazy, Hook is no coward, Milah didn't think so, Emma doesn't think so, The only reason why Rumple is all brave now is because he is the dark one, Hook almost had him and he didn't need the dagger, I just hate it when anyone attacks Hook!!! He is super brave and quite crafty, He is AWESOME.

There is a little spark of chemistry there between hook and Emma because when she was talking to hook she was showing a bit of sympathy by easing hook into the conversation by saying "I know it's hard to talk about"

I definitely understand everyone's reluctants to trust Rumple because he's known for his need for self preservation but he is the most powerful. His powers will come in handy.

This episode contains only one, ONE moment of Captain Swan and it not even romantic.. B( I know it suppose to be about saving Henry but I need Captain Swan romance. Save Henry already, guys!! Captain Swan

True, there wasn't much Captain Swan, but on the plus side, there was NO Swanfire/Swanthief. I think that is rather significant. There were plenty of opportunities in this episode for Neal to pull Emma aside for a private moment (or vice-versa), but it didn't happen. I also think the fact that Emma pulled Hook aside, asked for his help and showed a sensitivity to his feelings (she realized that talking about what happened to his brother might be quite painful for him to talk about) says a lot. Emma has been so focused on getting Henry back, she barely has time to think about anything else. That she was concerned about Hooks pain is important.

I lowkey will always resent this show for not showing us important conversations. They do this all the time, but it really started here with not showing Killian telling Emma about Liam. It makes character development stunted. To use this scene as an example, imagine how much more poignant the season 5 episode with Liam would have been if we had actually established Emma seeing Killian's adoration for Liam and seeing how high he set the bar for his little brother. We could have had an interesting dynamic there but nooo they had to cut corners like this. It's what will be this show's undoing, they never stop to enjoy the quiet moments, as Killian would say. Always throwing more problems at them instead of letting the characters digest what they've been through. Much as I love 4A and parts of s5, things really do start going downhill after s3. The A/B format doesn't help either. Before they had 26 episodes to deal with a villain, now they had to cut that in half. By the time they picked the old style up again it was too little, too late.

I completely agree. There were so many BIG, character-impactful if not defining conversations that needed to happen that the show never took the time for. The one you named, between Killian and Emma about Liam, is a biggie. The one I always think of is between Emma and literally anyone in her family about her past with Neal. So many quiet moments, so many implied, off-screen conversations that would have greatly strengthened the show if they were shown. I also totally agree with your point about the A/B format of the seasons. It did the show no favors

Rumple gives up his elixir too quickly even on Bae's behalf. Gold doesn't give anything away gratis. There WILL be a priced to be paid. And Emma is going to have to pay it. Interesting....

It did seem too easy. However, maybe his impending "undoing" made him realize that the big favor would be pointless if he dies. Maybe, i don't know. It's still a lose end

And the real reason Milah left you and Baelfire was evading you like the plague? (Not that it excused her actions but there was a reason before Hook)??
